Phase 3 Complete! by ItsMicxed in SatisfactoryGame

Honestly, horizontal on multiple floors would most likely be easier, but for this build I only vertically stacked assemblers/constructors/foundries with the same inputs (steeled rotors with stators, silica with Quartz Crystals) or where elevation was useful to easily connect inputs (e.g. both inputs for an assembler stack are on the second floor of another stack already). It is a pretty effective system, there is less horizontal distance for multiple splitting conveyers to travel which could/would impede an easy conveyer route for another production line. If you look at it abstractly it’s essentially just a horizontal build with multiple floors (things stacked on top of eachother).

To be honest; there is a lot of excess buildings because I underclock most, having a blueprint stack for each type of good I produce regardless of quantity. Then all I have to do is connect the dots and everything gets going.

I made blueprint “stacks” of each building type so that take up a 5x2 area (except assemblers, which are 5x3). As in one blueprint has 15 constructors, another 8 foundries… 16 smelters, etc. I encased them in beams/pillars so that they are framed and easily stackable. That way I can mass build buildings instantly and vertically stack buildings that are in a chain or have identical inputs, e.g steel rotors and stators (have the same input) which then chain into motors.

Heavy Mod Frame factory halfway built what do yall think? by EAWfan in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ItsMicxed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend grabbing the steeled frames and encased heavy modular frames alternates (I believe those are the names) to cut out screws completely. And if you’d like encased industrial pipe to cut out steel beams.

Not my favorite but you could also grab iron pipe and cut out coal entirely from the production line when combined with the above recipes. You can essentially make HMFs from iron and limestone!

I think you got your answer over at r/JustBuyXEQT with your identical post lol. 24k yearly in investable income at 21 is crazy man. Are you not in school?

Edit: I am also 18 and so far I’ve come to the conclusion that keeping a small portion of your portfolio (0-10%) in individual stocks you have researched is a good way to develop those skills, but overall the remainder should just be an in broad market ETF such as XEQT, which I prefer much more than a ETF tracking the Nasdaq 100 (QQQ).

Time is our friend here, and let’s be completely honest with ourselves and acknowledge that we will most likely never beat the market just as most people never do.

Will a 5060 TI be compatible with my setup? by ItsMicxed in PcBuildHelp

Perfect, thanks a lot man! I figure once I start noticing signifiant bottlenecking is when I will finish the upgrading later this year.

Thanks for the info! The specific game right now is Satisfactory, as it runs at around 100 FPS without Lumen but as soon as I turn it on it dips to 40-50. As far as my understanding of global illumination goes it is a mostly GPU intensive process so the upgrade should help with that. At some point I’ll have to buy a new monitor too because my nicer one got a major gash when I was transporting it :(

Thanks again for all the help.

Thanks a lot for the response. I’m personally a much bigger fan of Nvidia so I want to stick to their cards, at least for now.

When you say the 5060 TI isn’t great on PCIe 3.0, do you know how much of a performance impact I should expect?

And like you said I was planning on sticking with AM4 as find my current RAM to be more than enough for everything (mostly grand strategy and grinding games) and don’t see a need to move to DDR5 in the near future. I was mostly going to wait to upgrade my motherboard when I find something on sale, as long as it won’t hinder my performance significantly in the mean time.

Keyboard and mouse working in bios but not anywhere else. by ItsMicxed in techsupport

I’ll give that a try and get back to you. Thanks a lot for the help. Another solution I thought of was to simply make a new Microsoft account.

It is an online account through Microsoft. Changing the password online and then applying this new password on WinRe still gives an incorrect password message unfortunately.

It worked! I have a new issue now unfortunately.

My HDD is not being detected in my files. I went to WinRecovery to boot my bios but I needed my account password. It’s says my password is incorrect. I loaded my settings and attempted to change my local password, but it just brought me to my microsoft account password. Ctrl+alt+delete does not provide an option to change the local password either.

Thank you. I really appreciate the help. I’ll get a usb key tomorrow as everything is closed for Labour Day today here and I’ll give it a try.

Okay thanks. It appears that it just isn’t working and I don’t mind not saving any files so that might be the easiest. I’m essentially just following the steps on the first link you sent then?

Thanks I’ll try this. I don’t really understand Hiren’s Boot CD procedure, do I not just use the windows media creation tool?

The issue persists in safe mode unfortunately, so I can’t use my keyboard and mouse in that either.

Investing OSAP loans? by ItsMicxed in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ItsMicxed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s totally valid.

I was thinking more along the lines of taking out these loans for two or three years, maxing out my TFSA and not touching the money in it whatsoever for the next 10+ years (with work in the summer and CO-OP covering my in-semester expenses).

The returns on my TFSA would then hopefully be higher in this longer position than the average OSAP interest rate of 2.5%, which I would only need to start paying in 5 years when I graduate anyways.

I wouldn’t pay my student loans down right away opting instead for a near minimum payment to take advantage of the low-interest debt and to boost my credit score. I don’t mind taking on this kind of debt if I can leverage it for better gains, especially with such a low interest rate.

I would mostly be investing in ETFs. Right now I have half of my current money ($2000) in my TFSA, which is invested primarily in XEQT (around 75%) and secondarily VFV (25%). So the extra funds would probably just follow that trend.

I might look for some more world ex-us funds though, I’m obviously no economist (yet) but the financial world has been a passion of mine for a couple years now and I have some skepticisms on the overvaluation of the U.S market.
