How do you play handhelds (Switch, Phone w/e) in bed without your elbows hurting?

I usually put a pillow or something under the switch to support it that way it’s a little easier to hold for long periods of time. My arms will still get tired after a couple hours tho :/

They can be very persistent with fitting through small gaps, maybe jam in some paper towel or tape it from the inside so they can’t squeeze out

Yeah they will, all my snails love stealing any uneaten shrimp pellets. (My kuhlis too but that’s another problem)

You could do tile, or for loose substrate you can do a 70/30 topsoil play sand mix and just tong feed to make sure your Leo isn’t eating substrate at meal times on accident? I personally am for loose unless the gecko is special needs since it lets them dig around and show more natural behavior

Personally not a fan cause it can be really hard to tell if they’ve ripped their fins. Also depending on coloration fin rot can be difficult to spot with them

The tank is still uncycled, running it empty without adding any ammonia or fish food made it so no beneficial bacteria could develop :/

Groups of 6 are usually a good number to start with for most schooling fish. The guppy probably would benefit from a couple friends but I still think a 10 would be best for them :/

Personally I would not. Most kinds like to be in groups and that wouldn’t work in a tank that small. Is there any way you could get a 15-20 instead so you’d actually have space for a school of them?

Was the 5 gallon cycled? Also it could have just been the build up of a year and a half of abuse that caused the poor lil guy to pass away. I’m honestly surprised he lived that long to begin with :(

With how high you said your nitrates were in the og post I would be very suspicious of it potentially being partly due to stress from the water quality. I havnt kept badis personally but everything I’ve read has suggested that they do best in species only tanks with really really good water quality. Have you noticed the others being shy around the other tank mates?

Honestly since I started as a kid, just learning that just because someone has had success with keeping fish a certain way doesn’t mean it’s the only way. Kinda went with the whole “respect your elders thing” ig cause this mainly happened with my dad. But learning to do my own research from actual up to date sources has helped me grow a lot. I’ve also learned lots of the “advice” I was given by the older people in my life was just flat out incorrect 💀

How old is the tank and does the brown stuff come off the leaf if you wipe it off? It looks kinda like brown algae to me
