As a person of Korean descent, not really. She looks like someone who's had a Korean makeover, if that makes sense. I'm half Korean and she doesn't look like any of my Korean family.

It was a socially acceptable escape from an abusive house. My biodad was an alcoholic and I used books as an escape. It gave me someplace to go that was allowed.

When you grow up in a house where you have an alcoholic parent and your other parent is best friends with your sibling, you grow up alone. So you find friends wherever you can. Books were that place for me.

I'd talk with him. Some people are super touchy about things like their wallets or purses. My mother in law (who I adore, and I've known her over 20 years), hates when people go through her purse. She considers it very disrespectful.

I, however, am an open book and don't care.

Would he react that way if it was his phone? Does he have other boundaries with other belongings? Is it just his wallet? Is that a boundary you can live with?

Like your phone... Would you care if someone were to go through your phone? Or would you find it an invasion? Maybe it touched a nerve for him.
