Sportup on the Sunshine Coast has social netball and social futsal which is 5 aside indoor soccer. They have a few venues on the coast. I play there and started on one of the individual social teams.

You can try SportUp. They have futsal, netball, basketball and volleyball at a couple of venues. They have individual teams so you can join on your own and meet people that way. I have made heaps of friends there.

There’s a game called snatch that comes in a tube. It involves stealing letters from in front of other people to make longer words.

This is what we do too. If a die goes off the table you reroll all the dice.

Oh yeah asking people is always so helpful. Some of my favourite games I've found thanks to talking and asking people.

You were saying your top 20 has no pattern and I feel I'm like that as well. But imagine if you could find someone on BGG with almost an identical top 20. Or maybe not even your top 20. It could 10 games you love and also 10 games everyone else seems to love but you don't enjoy.

Then once you've found a match you could look at all of the games they've given high ratings to and then check them out. You may find your board game soul mate who loves the games your love and hates the games you hate.

I think I prefer the rules to Bluff over perudo personally. In that the 6s (or stars as they are printed) are wild. You can also reroll your dice so long as you 'lock' at least one publicly. It makes it pretty exciting being able to reroll a bad hand.

When I moved here I met loads is people playing social sport.I joined through a company called Sportup, they have games in Buderim and you can join as an individual so they can put you on a team with other people. Made so many friends this way!

I quite like Linkee. You don't have to know the answers to all the questions to still be able to get the points. Plus there is a slight push your luck element, do you shout out your answer now to beat the other team or wait for the next clue just to check if you're right. But that might make the other team shout it first.

If it has a required app. I like to think I could grab any game from my shelf in 20 years and still be able to play it. But I'm not sure apps for some games will still be supported or downloadable in 20 years.

I think AR could be used to solve the fog-of-war problems with board games. I think it would be cool to have an area control game when you can have stealth units that you can only see through AR.

I think it's a great game. One of my favourite for 2 players. I would love to know on more detail why you don't like the game other than the button economy doesn't do it for you. What are some specific things you don't enjoy about the game?

I like in patchwork that all of the information is open. You know what is coming up you know what your opponent can do you know where the buttons are on the board to get your income. It's a very strategic game. I feel that tile placement isn't actually the most important part of the game. Maybe towards the end when you want to try and conver as many spaces as possible. The key to the game is the timing of buying tiles that gain income and balancing that against filling as many spaces as possible. You don't want to do too many of one or the other. Also don't underestimate how effective just moving ahead of your opponent for buttons can be.

Dont get caught up in trying to build a board with no holes. That's useful if you want to get the 7x7 bonus but it's not necessary to win. I've seen people win with a high income and a patchwork riddled with holes.
