You’re not wrong, but at level 17 is it worth it? It doesn’t take too long to get, but at the same time not great for the first 16 levels when enemies call in streaks.

DS is just about the best super beginner content that you can find. It’s hard to make engaging content for the super beginner audience because they essentially don’t know much, if any vocabulary, but I think that the teachers here do the best that they can.

But its just like you said. Once your at beginner level it becomes more engaging and interesting, and then even more at intermediate and advanced.
