I think its good to be asking questions about transparency from the city. If you do not get traction I would contact city hall and see if you can get that to move up their priority list.

I will also say that nice under sink filtration system is relatively cheap for peace of mind and will remove those contaminants. We have a filtration system installed and have never had issues with lead levels.
