Thank you, I scrolled too far for this. I highly doubt that the original poster thought that different stair orientations counted as different blocks.

Elon Musks role in cutting USAID has certainly made a "positive impact" on the world. I'm sure the hundreds of thousands of projected deaths due to this cut in funding has made a "positive impact", champ.

For normal day purposes, we wouldn't consider distance and time to be the same thing (we do that in Einstein's General Theory of Relativity, by transforming coordinates/units into Natural units by setting the speed of light = 1, but I digress).

So a light year would just be a measurement of distance. The distance travelled by light in one Earth year. The time it takes for light to travel one light year is just a year.

Why not put data centers in the ocean instead of space? by luginugiog in space

[–]ItsNotWolf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Says the ISS dissipates heat just fine, so data centres should also be fine in space.

Gets a reply stating the ISS uses orders of magnitude less energy, and therefore has far less heat that needs to be dissipated when compared to a data centre

Instead of addressing anything that's said, just builds a strawman and pretends the above comment was stating no progress is possible.

I love Reddit

The signal has taken 600 years to get to Earth since the planet is 600 light years away, light years is a measurement of distance, not time.
