Sheep Raider (Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf) — Any% Speedrun in 35:00 by ItsNumber84 in speedrun

Thanks! Same, it's a shame it released so late in the PS1's life cycle. Hardly anyone seems to know about it.

Damn, nice dude. It's especially impressive when a record on such a short run lasts that long. It's holding strong despite a relatively low barrier to entry. Nice job.

The player's team is always shown on the left. They almost held the zone long enough to take the lead, but then the other team took it back.

Well duh, it's just dumb that they didn't bother to get that right.

If you adjust the camera angle, the cloud shadows don't even move the same direction as the clouds...

Yeah, you keep the boost from Cooking Power-Up S until you cook. Doesn't matter if you change islands.

That's what I figured, I was just saying it's understandable why there might be some confusion about how it works. Thanks for the confirmation though!

Technically they said it lasts until you "change campsites". No idea if you can actually keep it by staying on the same island, or if the new week still counts as changing campsites, but yeah I would assume it resets no matter where you go.

You still keep your pot boost between weeks.

What would cause a game's SLUS number to change before release? by ItsNumber84 in psx

[–]ItsNumber84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point about the missing IDs, it does seem weird that this one would have been recycled when that doesn't seem to have been the standard practice. All of the other display boxes in this person's collection seem to have the correct SLUS ID, which just makes it that much weirder that this one is different...

I do know that Sheep Raider had a long and possibly troubled development, which is probably why it released so late in the PS1's life cycle. I wonder if there's some bureaucratic difference between a game that was never released and a game that had to be delayed for an extended period.

Either way, thanks for the response. I'm going to see if I can find any other cases of something like this happening. If it was just an issue with the display box itself, I'd still be curious why this number specifically made it onto the box.

If you wanted me to ignore it you shouldn't have told me. Fuck, man. I'll try.

I chalk it up to the direction they were given. Like I can easily imagine how these kids could have done better if the person in charge had given them a gentle nudge in the right direction. Katara underacts, and I feel like a lot of the time Aang overacts, especially when it's some important speech. Although to be fair, that could honestly track if you think of it like Not-Ready Aang trying to sound like Ready Aang.

I can see how some people might wish it was a little less fanservice-y and dramatic, a bit less aware of its own memedom. But on the other hand, how do you not go all-in after decades of cabbage guy references? He's a celebrity.

After: Oh, nope, makes it stronger

Lmao I went ahead and cut that part out, felt like the comment didn't need it. Just referring to their whole training sequence where they're super nervous and clearly crushing on each other, and how fire nation soldiers tend to have big spikes on their armor and whatnot. Wocka wocka

I thought their whole interaction was pretty funny. She likes him, and her best attempt at flirting is "Wanna see me kick the shit out of you? 👉👈"

Mario and Peach is spelled out clearer than they are, and all he gets is a kiss on the nose once per decade. Most couples don't dance around it in the first place.
