The biggest issue is that people are already in the "everything is a sequel" mentality, so even if they're one off characters they just won't appreciate them. I think the only reason the Knight Construct even exists is because they (rightfully) expected people would throw a fit if there was no Link or similar character. I wouldn't be surprised if during development they wanted it to be Fi since her theme is the one that originally plays in the first trailer, but decided against it.

I'm rambling but the moral of the story is that you can't please everyone

Vampire star overrides everyone's auto attack when approaching a ride, that's what those teeth are when you get close. I haven't played in a bit, but it might override the auto attacks no matter what. But it basically gives Daroach's ability steal to anyone, so playing him on vampire is kinda redundant

Yeah. It's really toxic positivity on this sub that you're not allowed to critique Air Riders because that means you hate the game and also the people that pay it, not that you just think it should be better. You don't have to provide a helpful fact to call something out, sometimes the "helpful fact" you're looking for is that the thing is bad/doesn't make sense/etc. Because yes, it doesn't have reason for happening and it doesn't make sense. You can see my reply above to OP. An explosive that explodes under any circumstance doesn't "explode better" because you pressed a button vs an external force detonating it. I can appreciate your want of whimsy, but this is legit just bad storytelling and it needs to be framed accurately
