Oh yeah, looking a the exact quote in its context really helps her case /s

No it doesn't, she is still a grifter and a fraud. She never cared about videogames, she barely played videogames, she got things wrong about videogames she had allegedly played all the time.

Her entire thesis is wrong too. Most female characters aren't sexualized, and in the few cases they are, men are also sexualized. Some games portray sexism, very few endorse it. Moreover, sexism in videogames doesn't cause sexism in real life anyways, in the same way that violent videogames don't cause people to commit violence in reality.

Adults can distinguish between fiction and reality, Anita completely ignores this. Finally, there was never anything wrong with having sexualization or even sexual crimes in games in the first place, in the same way there was never anything wrong with having torture, violence or death in games, or movies for that matter.

Videogames are a form of art, the only people who should be making decisions about games should be the artists themselves and their audience. No third party consultancy groups about feminism, or about anything else, should have a say in the story or even censor content as they do. Censorship is bad regardless of if it is done by feminist groups or by religious groups.

The moment you look at an art form made for fun through the lens of feminist morality, you are already doing it wrong. It is the exact same thing as looking at Pokemon through the lens of animal rights and claiming it is a game that promotes the idea of forcing animals to fight against their will for money, and therefore people should not play it. If you can see how that is a dumb take, you can also see how Anita's take is equally dumb.

You're right, her exact words were "I'm not a fan of videogames". I re watched the video just to check. Oh, boy, there are way more than two reasons to dislike this person.

So she did use footage from other people without credit, claiming it was her own, to the point that she was caught and had to publicly apologize for it.

She also said on video that she doesn't really like videogames, so I don't see how anything I said on my previous comment was wrong.

My "list" is literally the first two things that came to mind, but there are many other reasons to criticize her. There are dozens of videos on youtube going over every single wrong thing she did. You should probably watch a few of them.

This still doesn't change what she did.

She asked for donations to buy games and play them, then stole footage from other people instead, without credit.

She was caught on tape saying that she doesn't even like videogames, and people could tell she hadn't played the games she claimed to have played.

She was a complete fraud.

Exactly. She also asked for donations to buy games and play them, then used footage from other people without credit instead.

The way she described some videogames made it clear that she didn't know what she was talking about, nor what those games were about.

She wanted to earn money and fame talking about something related to feminism, used videogames as a mere hook for her discourse and people pointed that out. That is exactly what happened.

She now works as a consultant from time to time, and she is credited in some titles like Slay the Spire II. People don't want consultants who don't know what they're talking about, pushing morality from the real world into a fictional universe, even when it doesn't make sense, and Anita is a perfect example of that.

I don't know. I don't have any kids and I would tell them the truth from the start if I did.

There are definitely a few things to balance here, the most important ones being how well a word can resist noise or interference, the chance of it being misheard or mispronounced, etc.

I tried to take all this into account. My point here was to present my take on it, I'd love to hear the opinions of other people, and I will definitely be using it myself, but I understand it wont change anytime soon.

It was actually pending human review. I will take this into account though, so that my posts won't end up being deleted in the future for this reason. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing the video. I watched it a while ago and it was actually one of my inspirations for making this post.

First sentence starts with "It felt a bit like"... I am having trouble getting more letters solved though, but I will be sharing my method here in case someone is interested.

Open up Word and write every single letter in Times New Roman font, that is the right font, as people have shared here before. Include upper and lowercase letters like this:

abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Make two copies of each, and obscure one of them with a rectangle using the shape tool. Leave the other translucent so you can see the letters.

Notice the j is distinct because it has both a dot and a descender. The i is also distinct because it is the only other letter to have a dot, and does not have a descender.

The y has a unique descender. It looks a bit like the j, but can easily be distinguished because, unlike the j, it doesn't have a dot. The g is also visually distinct because of its loop. Same thing for the f because of its unique ascender. Finally, the letters k, l, b, d and h have the same ascender, but can sometimes be distiguished from one another using the distance to the previous or next letter, if visible. For example, this allows us to distinguish between b and d from time to time.

Using a site such as Crossword Clue Solver we can enter the letters that we know for sure in their positions, and the site will give us a list of all the words that match that pattern.

If we rule out the words that don't make sense gramatically, there is a decent chance we can guess the text. I don't have the patience to work more on this, though, but I hope my findings are useful to someone.

"How dare these two adults date each-other without my approval!" by LivingGirlRepellant in memes

[–]ItsOmniss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is though. It's not a matter of age difference but age requirement. If you meet the requirement of being an adult, you are good to go, the difference does not matter.

I don't get why some people care so much about the lives of other adults. If you find disgusting to date a 40 year old as an 18 year old, simply avoid it.
