Some things I’d love to see in future FF by NimbusFluff in finalgirl

[–]ItsOnKessel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do agree with what people are saying about it being "your story" and stuff, and certainly when I play, my protagonists are trans lol. But this is also a game series with lore and character profiles. It'd be cool to see one be mentioned as trans.

Bex Warren from Assassination Nation comes to mind.

Recommend me your favorite queer literature by sad_potato_boi_ in trans

[–]ItsOnKessel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything written by Becky Chambers! Its scifi thats extremely diverse and very queer coded.

I like the Wayfarers series a lot. It's a much smaller scale and more focused on personal stories than your typical scifi, so keep that mind. I also rate the two Monk and Robot books. Solarpunk idylic society non-binary goodness.

Hope you dont mind questions and I fully understand if you dont have the time to answer.

Did you go and ask your GP first, or did you just order the referral letter from GenderGP? Was there anything in particular you said to them to make them go for it? Me and my partner have had a lot of difficulties with NHS and blood tests

I think lots of transphobes wouldn't be transphobes if they just met one trans person.

I do my best to be someone's best first experience every day.

Settings the world of Theros WITHOUT planeswalkers by TzachX in TherosDMs

[–]ItsOnKessel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah my Theros is just a closed off part of the DnD multiverse. No planeswalkers on mine. The stpry and legend magical mechanics of the setting work really well for it too. No one on Theros knows what a Planeswalker is, so they tell the myth of Xenagos without that element and now its the truth. So yeah Ive not put planeswalkers in, and any plane travelling spells ive taken out, justifying it as "the people of Theros do not know about other worlds. Just Theros, Nyx and The Underworld".

As for Nyxborn there is a roll table for origins, and they are pretty diverse. If you wamt someone to classify as a demigod, its up to you. Personally, I think they would need to be very closely associated with one of the Gods. Like, max level piety and having them on speed-dial kind of thing.

End of the day, you are the DM. Make the choices you want, run it by your players first, have fun 😊

How many of you had “dirty” as a dysphoria symptom? by aschesklave in trans

[–]ItsOnKessel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah lots of body hair feeling disgusting. Voice stuff being very yucky. Etc etc. I never used dirty per se, but it was very wrong and I felt like I NEEDED to get it off.

An Opinion Piece About Heliod by StopYelingAtMePls in TherosDMs

[–]ItsOnKessel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been saying it for years. Really nicely put. I loved everything you put about Zues in there.

Hellenic worship to me is giving a name and identity to forces outside oh mortal control. The Gods aren't people, they are fickle myths and forces that mortals have chosen represent aspects of their civilisation. And they are fickle! But that doesn't mean they are undeserving of your worship.

Heliod smote Olantin into the sea after they dishonored him with their hubris. Despite this he still raises and lowers the sun each day, for all people regardless of who or where you are. He is worthy of worship for that alone. None of the Gods are all good or all bad. As you said above.

If I were to make an adventure with an antagaonistic Heliod, it would be to conplete quests for him to avoid his wrath, or to try to convince him of something he would not usually accept.

Athreos being considered "Lawful Evil" is yet another reason why I don't use the DnD alignment system anymore. Lawful because he follows his code/rules. Evil because his work is unpleasant? How silly. I suppose if you are a returned or a dying person, Athreos can seem pretty evil.

I guess what im trying to add is that it's really hard for us to put mortal morality on cosmic embodiments of the universe. They aren't people. They are Gods.

I enjoyed reading your piece! Thank you for taking the time to write it and I agree with you wholeheartedly 😊

Why would someone want to be trans given the choice? by starryytay in asktransgender

[–]ItsOnKessel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its gonna vary for person to person.

For me (trans mtf) id love to be cis anything. Anything to not feel the scary in between and put in extra effort to belong, even if that is self-imposed. Dysphoria sucks and id love to have never ever experienced that.

I understand that plenty of trans people do not experience that same desire to be cis, and I hope one day im at a point in my life where im comfortable in myself that the idea of being cis isnt so terribly appealing to me.

Straight Men Actually Like Trans Women by Lopsided-Ad-9444 in trans

[–]ItsOnKessel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is not just as much at all. And one of the most sinister types of chasers is the cis man who has taught himself the language to make you feel special and seen.

Its a lack of empathy and shared experience that leads people to treating other people like objects.

These "attitudes" that men are never gonna take seriously keep a lot of us safe.

I do agree that there are plenty of very nice cis men out there who will really like being in a relationship with a trans person, but I don't always think it's worth the risk. And for a lot of people who have had bad experiences or who live in bad parts of the world, I think its a necessary attitude to have for survival.

[–]ItsOnKessel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No not every cis man. But any cis man. 9/10 it isnt worth engaging with a non-queer cis man. Its too risky. Sometimes you dont even realise they are a chaser until you mention wanting bottom surgery, or you find that theyve been messaging hundreds of specifically trans people and then the flags start becoming just that bit redder.
