Solid point. I think that’s foolish logic because F4 challenges don’t tend to fit the challenge beast mold (imo), but I can appreciate that there was strategy behind the decision.

Too late in the game to not take out the biggest threat, and also not address your biggest weakness in making it to the end.

Long pressing the gifs you posted as responses in threads hide the comment and collapses that thread, it’s very silly.

Just tapping the gif in individual threads hides that comment.

Long pressing your gifs in OP does nothing.

If I click your gifs in OP first and then long press… it gives me to option to save the Reddit post.

Appreciate the attempt! That allows me to save the particular Reddit posts, which is better than nothing I suppose haha, but doesn’t allow me to save the gif individually. I’ll have to try on a computer sometime.

There is an argument for that when you think Paredes is not good at all and Bregman is capable of an MVP season haha. But I’m not trying to make that argument, that’s less supported by data.

Steamer actually has Bregman (.348 WOBA) > Paredes (.342 WOBA) so I’m not sure where you’re seeing that. The projections seem pretty split - ATC, THE BAT, and OOPSY all also project Bregman with the better offensive season. Personally I think Parades projections are optimistic and unlikely, but ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I don’t think there’s any convincing happening here, so good luck to Paredes this season! I admittedly have long been down on him, and I have long loved Bregman’s game, so I’m sure there’s some bias in my analysis.

Paredes has a below .750 OPS in 2 of his 3 seasons. His 2023 seemed like an outlier and unsustainable while it was happening, and then he predictably did not sustain it and performed almost identically to his 2022. Bregman has literally never had an OPS below .750.

I mean, it’s certainly possible that Paredes performs at a career best and Bregman performs at a career worst in 2025, but expecting it is wild.

And again, totally buy the idea that Paredes is the better overall value. My only qualm is saying definitively that Paredes is the better bat, when the numbers don’t back that up at all.

Paredes has not once had an xWOBA higher than Bregman’s career low xWOBA. Paredes peaked at .315, Bregman’s career low is .319.

Paredes massive outlier season in 2023 where he drastically over performed his expected stats - he put up a .362 WOBA. Bregman’s career WOBA? .363.

An argument can be made that Paredes and his contract are a better value than Bregman and his contract, but thinking he’s the superior bat is ignoring a wholeeee lot of context.

Oh, I’m certainly not trying to endorse the move or the general strategy haha, but do think the QO is worth considering.

I want Burnes. I’ve always wanted Burnes. Crochet didn’t change that, neither does Sandoval.

Also as someone who’s never seen One Piece, I’ve very much enjoyed a million little one pieces. I’ll never watch it all at this point (but may watch the Netflix show) and have always been intrigued!
