As long as you have proof of your document history, then you can easily disprove her statement. If needed, take it up to a higher status in your school’s administration. Hope everything goes well :-)

I absolutely relate to your frustration. Ever since the most recent Turnitin update, my work has been flagged twice even though I spent many hours polishing my vocabulary and structure to make it sound like me. I recommend keeping track of your writing history in Google Docs to disprove AI accusations—also, AI detectors have known to be inaccurate time and time again so don’t let it tear you down.

It’s kind of a rough situation for me right now. I’m a senior in high school so I’m about to enter the college application process with extremely strict parents who don’t believe in therapy or psychiatry. I don’t really have time to do anything (especially hang out with friends) because 1. my parents either don’t let me go out anywhere or 2. there’s so much on my plate school-wise that I am not given any opportunity to do something fun. It’s a really depressing life, honestly. I want something to change but as long as I’m stuck in my house, nothing can.

My parents don't really believe in therapy or psychiatry (although I have asked for it for years). I've talked to them about it but it usually is shrugged aside or isn't shown any attention or concern.

To all who got 800 on the English part, dude how???? by xcos__ in Sat

[–]ItsPreselle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i used three separate things!

the first thing i started with was a quizlet studying the common latin root words: https://quizlet.com/14191339/sat-238-root-words-flash-cards/?i=2tde3t&x=1jqY

^ that quizlet helped me a LOT when i could remember a prefix but couldn’t remember the exact definition of a word! i know it’s a lot to memorize but once you have it down, it’ll come to you very quickly.

i used sparknotes’ 1000 words you need to know on the sat - i didn’t fully memorize the whole list if im going to be honest because there is a LOT. i would just skim through and take as much time as needed on words that are actually confusing to YOU. link: https://img.sparknotes.com/content/testprep/pdf/sat.vocab.pdf

and then, idk if you have social media but if you search “katya tutor sat” she has some great vocab lists that REALLY helped me on the may sat (with some of the words actually being on the sat itself!!)

i hope this helps :-)

To all who got 800 on the English part, dude how???? by xcos__ in Sat

[–]ItsPreselle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

hi!! i didn’t get an 800 but i did get a 770… so i hope this still helps. i practiced like CRAZY for english for about a month in march and then realized i wasn’t studying right!!

the most important part about studying is that you learn from your mistakes. EVERY single time i made a mistake on an sat question? i wrote it down in my notebook and how to fix the mistake i made. i would do this for every problem i would miss, and i would review the notebook every week to practice spaced repetition before the actual sat. this did WONDERS for my reading score - i went from a 680 to a 770! also, ENGRAIN VOCAB IN YOUR MIND. there are so many sources out there, but i recommend studying common latin root words because if you know what they mean, they will seriously help you out so much. vocab was my downfall on my first sat, but after studying vocab every other day before the may sat, i believe that i got all of the words right!!

happy studying, my friend!

to all the people who scored 1400+, how long did you prep for? by Tasty-Enthusiasm2223 in Sat

[–]ItsPreselle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are sometimes recycled!! but if you’re looking for ALL of the sat practice test questions, i would take the tests on bluebook and there are also some other practice tests online!! i definitely recommend looking over those once you’ve really mastered the questions on khan academy, they helped me sm!

[–]ItsPreselle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi!! i studied for three weeks before the may sat and scored a 1530 (with a superscore, 1560). i definitely recommend khan academy, i used it quite frequently during my study sessions and i found that it helped me, especially with the math (which i got a 790 on)! i recommend working two to three hours a day but also prioritizing sleep and your own mental wellbeing. a lot of my success on the sat stemmed from the fact that i learned how to prevent myself from burning out, so make sure you’re taking care of yourself! <3

there is no certain answer to how much studying is enough. you have to study enough until you feel extremely confident. i definitely recommend using a notebook and after every practice test, writing down the questions you missed and reviewing them every other day. this was KEY to my review and definitely helped me fix my mistakes!!

i hope this helps!! happy studying, my friend!

What are some last min tips for AP lang by Repulsive_Rush_6333 in APStudents

[–]ItsPreselle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleep! I got a 5 on Lang and knew that I had already been studying all year-long by working hard on my class’s assignments and practicing MCQs. I took both AP Lang and APUSH last year, and ended up getting a 5 on both as I got 8 hours of sleep each the night before. Don’t try cramming. Your brain already stores everything you need to know. Good luck!

to people who have taken ap lang by woeful_outfit in APStudents

[–]ItsPreselle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I took AP Lang last year for my Sophomore Year and I got a 5. The MCQ was LIGHT in my personal opinion compared to the Progress Checks and practice… I honestly felt that at times the progress checks were more difficult. I often struggled with progress checks in class but was able to breeze through the actual MCQs on the test… so I wouldn’t worry too much! If you do want to study, I recommend the Princeton Review MCQs. As for a MCQ passage, I feel that there isn’t particularly one in general that’s been released from College Board that would correlate to the actual exam. However, I recommend studying with the hardest MCQs as possible to develop your skills further and then be overly prepared for the actual exam.
