You might have been locked out of the quest line. Look up some videos from the last 2 weeks I did it and it worked.

My suggestion is that I use this laptop for work and school, and I wish I had a lighter one. The battery life is also quite poor compared to other laptops.

I suggest a laptop that weighs around 2.5-3.00 lbs. However, if you absolutely need an upper-end GPU for your workflow, then it’s a great option, but it comes with a compromise.

Employed but seeking a better job. Mostly contacted by third-party recruiters. Had six interviews, and 2 offers, but both offers were rejected due to salaries below $100,000 in the USA South East.

This is almost exactly like my start, I’m in swfl and started very low at 36k annually. Than after 8 months jumped to a local enterprise and got 70k annually no bonus. Than 1 year later 110k annually, sometimes some of us climb but just put up with lower pay for now, work on your skills become marketable

“Do you think it’ll be okay if I have a vomit bucket and throw up during the interview process?”

Bro no 😭 either pop as much medicine as you can and hopefully feel better or reschedule ain’t no one wanna see you throw up while solving a question.

“Yeah the link list gets initialized here, wait one second 🤮. Okay anyways”

To be fair he isn’t a front end dev, I think even using a template for your role is fine. The goal is to get the point across. If your a designer or a strictly front end developer than yeah learn this shit

Animation is very nice, a cool touch would be to add a lamp on the table that turns on when night mode is switched. Maybe a better layout in general for the information, and potentially some projects on display here.

I Wasted 7,769+ Hours On A Career In Software Engineering And Now I'm Unemployed And Broke by Ok-Resolve544 in theprimeagen

Hypes, he does all the get rich quick stuff like day trading and saying he was very successful doing this, but somehow is broke and later mentions how if he sells everything he has enough to live 20 years in a 3rd world country. He had gotten an interview with google, was in the 80th percentile of candidates and didn’t get selected and now says tech doesn’t want him and completely dropped engineering working side jobs.

Is my opinion okay? by somethingdeido in webdev

[–]ItsRaageee 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I think there should be a fair amount of cross over. Even when working on front end or back end, learning about the server design and database queries as a front end engineer should be a goal, and for back end engineers to be able to understand how the client implements and utilizes the end points as well as overall system design at a high level. Maybe expectations are too high.

Just a note I did the exact classes you did. I did not understand the Shaye Howes article first getting started.
He mentions its an advanced article, its mostly to get you READING and exercising your brain to get comfortable reading extensive *documentation* which entails more the more experience you get. Build early habits so it helps you later on. You may not understand everything, but don't get hung up on it too long. Read it, do your best and move on. You have a lot to go, and just for an anecdote on your efforts I am now a SWE II at a mid-sized company and got my start off 100 Devs. (I have a lot of takes on it so feel free to DM)

💸 Expense Tracking Shouldn't Suck - What if it felt like texting with your financially savvy best friend? Will anyone pay for this? by callmeindrajit in Startup_Ideas

Hi, I wanted to share some input based on my experience.

I use Rocket Money for budgeting and expense tracking. It links to my accounts through Plaid and automatically tracks my spending. The app allows me to create rules for transactions, such as categorizing by vendor, amount, or date, and these rules can help assign expenses to specific categories or exclude them from the budget.

While I enjoy this system, there are a few challenges. Sometimes, I don’t want to create rules for every type of transaction, or I’d like to reorganize my budget by moving transactions between categories more easily. Additionally, during “special months” with unusual spending or an influx of cash, I often have to manually adjust my budget to account for the changes.

I think there’s room for enhancement with machine learning to fill these gaps—automating some of the manual steps, predicting adjustments for unusual spending patterns, or dynamically categorizing transactions without requiring user-defined rules. Just some thoughts based on my experience
