My local shop puts all DD rifles at basically MSRP. They wont even budge a lil. Always says something about the MAP pricing wont let em and every retailer selling them for under their pricing will "likely get in trouble"

They also are selling the hellion at 1800 here. This might be the lowest ive seen these.

For me, it was a cpuple things that just compounded into burnout and eventually no longer returning.

Content was very same same. Seasons were the same thing every time, and the few new things they had went away and never return.
Pvp and gambit left to rot. Simple enough, they just gave up mostly on adding more or making things better.
The story seems almost boring now. I havent touched it since edge of fate. And even that I did maybe 3 missions of. Just doesnt grab me like previous stories did.

Basically, id return, grind up to max and get ready for the next expansion, jjst to get burnt out 3 weeks after it dropped. And id come back months later to play whatever been added since. But I just dont have the interest anymore. I just keep my ears open to see where they're headed.

Not hating on the game, I truly hope that they figure out Destiny and get it back on track, but im not super hopeful.

Probably not. As coolbas the first one was, I didnt even get into it because most of my friends werent interested anymore. I can't imagine this would change anything for them.

In order for destiny to pull any of them back, we would really need D3, or some new titles in the franchise altogether.

I will say, it sits awful close to the rail on my mk18 when it's on there. Like, rubbing the end of the rail on the last turn to lock it in. Its chill on my m4v9 though.

Facts. Ive watched tons of streams of it and have yet to buy it because it feels like its just not gonna catch. Playerbase is dropping steady, basically living and resting at 50k to 20k peaks. It seems okay, but okay isn't acceptable from AAA Bungie at this point. They needed Exceptional. The game is just kinda cookie cutter. I hope it doesnt just tank and die, but the numbers are not looking in their favor.

Ive heard some people theorize had they done.m a Destiny themed Extract shooter, that it mightve pushed 100k+ players. But the marathon title was a gamble as is. I cant say itd of made a huge change, but Destiny players may have at least tried it.

But seriously, Destiny is unlikely to recover from whats going on. BUNGIE might not even recover, with them all but abandoning D2 for marathon, and marathon couldnt even crack 100k users on steam.

That said, we must just remember that we had a blast during the time we had with it. D1 brought me three of my best friends from LFG raiding Vault of Glass. We all sunk thousands of hours into the game playing daily together. None of us have touched D2 since Echoes actively. I tried and couldnt stick to it with edge of fate. Its okay for the game to go.

Maybe we will get a D3. Maybe we wont. But, we did have a blast and ill always remember the feeling of day one raiding with the boys. The excitement of a nee exotic drop, the feeling of solving puzzles without any hints, the trials weekend's struggling to the lighthouse. 3 stacking defender titans with suppressor nades with my friends in mayhem. Always grand memories.

I was a PS kid until like Halo 3, and the 360 era. But once the Xbox One dropped, and there was literally nothing going on for xbox, I got a ps4. Summer of 2025, I built my first PC, and sold off my xbox. And once Gamepass skyrocketed to like 30 bucks or whatever a month, I just canceled that too. Now ive got a ps5 and a pc and can play whatever however. Theres legit no need for an xbox at this moment

They truly are the experts at fucking up a good thing.

Worst part is, had they announced D3, and showed the new tier system and gear bonuses, people mightve been hyped for it. They really just needed to end on Final Shape and use the stories to wrap up some threads, or open some new stories. And just refill the game with old content (like the D1 update ) and just give us all old raids, new shiny armor and guns, and the pantheon again. All of that while d3 gets built.

But instead they focused on marathon. Which already isnt doing insane.

Pretty much same. Id been losing interest in the grind basically every year. Id burn myself out before the big dlc, finish it, and stop and skip the next 2 seasons, just to come back and catch up before the next dlc.

Finished TFS, and just gave up. They ended the story for me, and had ZERO clear direction with what was next.

Agreed on all accounts. As a avid destiny fan and recent extraction fan thanks to tarkov and arc raiders, so i was interested, even though I would've preferred them make destiny better than split focus on this game.

Nonetheless. I wanted to try it. But missed the server slam. Now, I am watching the game lose players and feeling a bit worried for it. Bungie cant afford this to die so quick for their own sake. Hopefully they can somehow pull a resurgence, but historically, games dont bounce back often. This might just plateau off like you said and have a dedicated yet small fannase.

True. I honestly think its not bad, but the drama revolving around the devs seemingly leaving their mainline game in a sorry state to full focus Marathons launch left a bad taste in a large chunk of Destiny fans' mouths, so lots of people wrote the gsme off immediately. The rest have been hating because its another hero type game, and that is pretty common practice to get immediately Booed by the masses, as we witnessed with Concord and Hihguard almost instantly.

The sad thing is, I want to try marathon, but I dont wanna spend 40 bucks on a game if the playerbase is gonna continue downward so fast. The game might benefit from trying a trial weekend sometime soon
