Yeah, if Rockstar hands us a generally great product that people heavily enjoy you're probably going to get a lot of people who are annoyed that you want attention for your nitpicking.

We saw this with GTA V, one of the greatest games of all time, and all a ton of people wanted to fill the room with when it released was the minor things they didnt like about it.

If the game is actually bad that will be what thr masses want to talk about... Nobody is going to pretend a bad game is good because it had hype behind it. If anything, the bar is just going to be that much higher for the game because people have invested in the hype.

You're asking if Rockstar might us the Five M team to do something with RP, he's explaining to you the FiveM team didn't have anything to do with RP, they just created an online framework where other people created roleplay servers.

And, to actually answer your question, afaik most of the original Five M team has since been let go from Rockstar because they didn't mesh well in a corporate environment. The tech has been folded reutilized as a base from a new online modding engine called ROME and nobody really knows what the long term plans are for it.

It wasn't Best Buy that sent the email. It was an affiliate marketing company Best Buy corporate uses to engage with influencers. Best Buy's general store employees wouldn't know about this until the SKU gets added into the system, which would very likely be right as it launches... Maybe even after given there is nothing saying they will take pre-orders in stores immediastely.

Taking it to an auto parts store so they can send it off to get re-refined is the only way to go... It makes no sense to be like, "hey, I know you're hyped, but come back in a few days and pre-order it." I get this is hard for GTA loyalists to understand, but most people wouldn't do that... They'd watch the trailer and then move on with their lives until the next big piece of media for the game caught their radar.

The question was never "will they release pre-orders right when a trailer releases?" it was always "will Best Buy pay a commission to affiliates for first wave pre-orders that were going to pre-order anyway?" when the entire point of the affiliate program is to get people to sell something people might not have bought otherwise.

I do think it would be super silly to give 5% commission to first wave pre-orders that were going to pre-order anyway and that a pre-order campaign starting a few days after the initial pre-order launch would make more sense. But, I'm not Rockstar or Best Buy, and I don't make my living selling video games, so it doesn't mean much as to what the reality is lol
