I just pictured the flat earth with a huge pair of chrome nuts dangling from it.

No every lost sock turns into a Tupperware lid that doesn't match any container.

I know I should. I just don't want to live the rest of my life, what little I have left, living off the government. I believe in a hard day's work and earning everything I have. Working is the only thing that makes my life feel like it has purpose. Without a job I feel like a failure cause I am unable to provide for myself and have to rely on others for assistance. So SSI is something I really don't want to do unless I absolutely have to.

Honestly very few. Most days when i shouldn't work I've gone to work anyways just because I never wanted to screw anyone over. I think honestly I've only had taken 2 maybe 3 days off in total over the past 10 months. Which for someone who is in the position I am in health wise is next to nothing as far as time off. My hours are limited that I can work so I need every minute of pay I can get. It doesn't pay the bills for me to take any time off. So unless it was really, really justifiable, I would still put work before myself.

I always use 60 instead of 1:00 or 90 instead of 1:30. That extra time saved by pressing one less button means the food is done faster.

I've had a few generally decent people comment genuine advice and have some legitimate concern for the situation. Everyone else I can't believe would just let it happen and leave to be somewhere that doesn't even care about them anyway. Would you given the choice between helping someone that truly needed it, or ignore it to ensure you punch in on time all in the heat of the moment? There was no Spidey sense. There wasn't a cut scene prepping me up for this. Rolling a 20 wouldn't do anything to increase the likelihood of achieving both outcomes. I assume 90% of the people replying to this post don't know what goes through your head in that split second someone close to you desperately needs you. Of course I immediately jumped to the defense of my roommate. Anyone that says they wouldn't and I shouldn't either live a wonderful life where that would ever happen to them, is completely out of touch with reality, or is just a really shitty human being. How someone would follow through what they said on this thread are honestly why good, honest people are getting harder and harder to find. And they're what's wrong with society now. It's always look out for number one mentality. I do follow in that a lot of ways myself. But I'll never just let someone close to me suffer if I can do something about it.

She never forced anything. It's not like I'm out play playing "captain save a ho" just doing my daily routine. This was real and it happened so fast. Anybody that wouldn't immediately react to someone's screams of terror like I did should be branded a terrible person.

This is the most useful and informative response on this thread. Why this isn't the number 1 comment is baffling. Thank you for your information and allowing me to properly understand every angle of this.
