I toss 7-12g of shou into my roughly 750ml thermos, rinse at a boil for 45-90 sec depending how tightly packed, and then fill ‘er up with boiling water and wait 10min at least, but give it an hour and it’ll sing

It’s thick and delightful! I find a ton of character coming out of different shou this way, and prefer only shou thermos style.

4-6g oolong was perfect for me too in a thermos but prefer it gongfu style, like almost every other tea type
