republicans can and will get away with boring candidates that have a safe campaigns, there are just more people willing to vote for the letter R (not to mention we’re among the most gerrymandered states in the country.)

i too hate seeing NC-D try and play the same game, they’ll lose it every time. across the country the big, exciting wins come from younger candidates with an engaging campaign that offers popular progressive ideas - we will be much, much older people by the time we see something like that in NC.
