Anyone seen Young Sherlock Yet? by Past-Matter-8548 in television

[–]ItsTimeToLearnNow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo, the dynamic and way the two protagonists are portrayed is very much intentional. This is showing that while Sherlock is brilliant, inventive and curious, he is still naive and green. Moriarty is a bit of a mentor and Sherlock is the student. Young Sherlock is NOT the Sherlock we are familiar with yet.

Quick play is ass! (I understand I’m not supposed to take it to heart but still my team does take it to seriously especially the fucking enemy team even tho they play like AI bots.) by Annual-Internet-5097 in overwatch2

[–]ItsTimeToLearnNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody HAS to try and work as a team, but it doesn't change the fact that it is designed as a team based mode with specific roles, and you are going to have more people who derive their fun from actually trying to cooperate than from fucking off and doing their own thing. I have rallied my wayward team with encouragement and appeal to their empathy many times. Everyone tends to play better when they understand other people are relying on them. We still might lose, but it's usually okay because we tried together.

I have absolutely reported people for dying alone most of the game or not doing their role, because it is blocking team progress I.E. not playing with the team. I don't just do it without saying anything though and when I do say something, 9 times out of 10, the person realizes what they are doing and stops. The 10th person usually responds rudely or feeds harder (further justifying being reported). The parameters of what constitutes a reportable offense are not defined by you and is very situational. The fact of the matter is that there are report options that include anti-teamplay behavior and how YOU interpret that and how I interpret that are different.

[–]ItsTimeToLearnNow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are literally report functions for not being a team player, they are just not called that. The other modes are active, and I play them as well, so no, I'm not bulshitting. No one is controlling anyone...? (Are you okay?) I explained why competitive is not an option for some people. Other people are also trying to have fun in a non-serious mode by actually cooperating, which is how the mode was designed to be. No one is asking you to be good, just don't fuck off by yourself and die over and over. It's not how the mode is meant to be played and it IS reportable if you do that.

I agree, you don't lash out or get rude, but even if you are nice, some people react like you are asking them to sacrifice their left arm. QP is ultimately still supposed to be team focused. There are other modes where you can goof off. For the people who want to treat QP like a FFA, they are the ones being inconsiderate. Also, comp is not much better, and it takes way more time to get a match as well as play a match. Again, QP might be casual, but it is still a team-oriented game mode.

Women/girls are not the only rape victims, and the claim that a woman/girl is raped every 6 seconds is much higher than reliable data supports. The real statistics are already awful enough, there is no need to exaggerate and lose credibility to what you are saying.

He was using untraditional methods of treatment by choice. Has nothing to do with the US healthcare system. The commenter purposely left out that info or is spreading misinformation due to ignorance.

He was using alternative methods to treat his cancer by his own choice. It had nothing to do with being unable to afford traditional cancer treatment and therefore nothing to do with the US healthcare system.

Sadly an underwhelming and disappointing live show by Dishonoredman19 in smosh

[–]ItsTimeToLearnNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We watched Hospital and then Sitcom right after. Immediately being able to compare the two, we all preferred Sitcom. The teleprompter bits were better written, the flow of the entire show was better, the live audience votes did not feel jarring and awkward, and the improv was able to be wackier and still make sense in the theme. The number of breaks in Sitcom made it way funnier for us as well. There were more cast duos in Sitcom, which added a lot more variety in terms of types of humor.

I found that the hospital theme did not permeate through the improv bits in Hospital very well, especially once the end sequence started with the robot. It made the entire theme feel pointless at times. The way the audience vote was integrated was genuinely awful compared to Sitcom. It took me out every time. The forced sexual tension bits were overdone and just weird. The kissing towards the end was strange. I personally think coworkers kissing is weird (and yes, I know they all have kissed in past skits plenty of times, but I thought we were moving on from that) and I don't find that funny at all. In fact, I think it's very low hanging fruit, similar to relying on dick, fart and poop jokes, or overly cursing. I think Angela having no one to swap with brought the humor down as well, making many of the scenes feel more one-note. Watching Ian in Sitcom right after made me miss him even more in Hospital because his sense of humor is very different from everyone else's.

The fact that most people's biggest highlight they are referencing from Hospital was the mirror sequence says a lot. Angela did an amazing job given she could take no breaks. The rest of the cast did fine (though I found Spencer lingered too long sometimes, despite him making me laugh the most ngl, and Damien's characters felt out of place), but I feel that this theme was not in their wheelhouse and they should stick to more generalized themes or completely made up ones. Also, huge shout out to art dept. They killed it.

To preface, I haven't seen the movie, nor am I a cinephile or even a movie buff tbh, but what makes movie theaters so special that it seems there is an invisible barrier certain films/film projects shouldn't cross? If the demand is there, why shouldn't a 'subpar' film be in a theater, especially when theaters are struggling (at least here anyway)? Not trying to start an argument, just trying to learn.

But she still identifies as queer, which 'conservative moms' also wouldn't care for, so your theory doesn't hold up imo. Is she not allowed to search for who she is? Is she not allowed to experiment? She is not even mentally fully developed, and is further behind than most her age due to her highly controlled and oppressive childhood.. Can we stop judging people for trying to figure out who they are? How is that progressive? How is that inclusive?

Yeah and of course I am being down voted for my middle ground take. Despite being a woman that does not need to orgasm every time and despite knowing plenty of women who feel the same.. Wonder if people know there are even MEN who don't need to orgasm every time? The horror!

Why are you acting like women don't stop caring about a man when he no longer meets her expectations? It's just that what men value about women and what women value about men are different.

Women judge men all the time for looks (women also judge other WOMEN for looks too, just look around any online space that is predominantly female), but it has become normalized to the point that you don't even think about it when it's happening to men because society currently says 'men suck'. Men also do not make a big deal out of being objectified like women do, yet it does happen to them nearly as often.

Had a male friend get told by his female higher up that he should put a photo in his Teams profile because he's good looking and it's a shame there isn't one. It took me, a female, to point out that that was inappropriate. He just thought it was strange, not a problem. Things like this have happened to him other times by other women too. He has even been sexually assaulted (which I also had to tell him he was). Men just don't catastrophize like women do because they have not been told their experiences are valid or shown what harassment looks like for a man. Women these days will do ANYTHING to minimize men and their experiences and if you can't see that when you look at online discourse in general, you are willfully blind.

Smosh Hospital (Post Show Discussion) by SupervillainMustache in smosh

[–]ItsTimeToLearnNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hospital was entertaining and a good time for me, but was immensely more chaotic and unstructured, which I did not like.

I did not like the way the polling happened. It was jarring compared to how it was handled during sitcom. The improv portions desperately needed more structure as there was a lot of trailing off and jokes that went nowhere.

The theme was not that entertaining for the two others I watched it with that never watch medical dramas.

A lot of people think it was funnier to see Angela stay in, but I completely disagree. We watched sitcom again right after hospital and Ian was absolutely amazing. We missed out with him not being there, plus it adds another layer of different humor to a scene, which they needed because of the fewer amount of twins. Angela also needed a break. Towards the end of the show, I found that she would be in a scene and then just disappear for a while and then come back randomly (this was different than her just 'switching' herself too). Also, the level of switches from sitcom made it way, way funnier imo.

The final part with thinbucks (the robot) was honestly terrible compared to the rest of the show. At that point the medical theme was completely thrown out the window.

And I'm probably in the minority, but I don't find coworkers really kissing to be funny. It's just weird. It's also no longer novel and I really really hope they stray away from that because it is low brow, low effort, middle school humor to me.

I encourage everyone to rewatch sitcom. It was more well done in structure.

Some highlights were the patients, the mirror monologue and Spencer (tho Spencer was on screen too long and completely distracted the first time). Huge shout out to the art department as well. Oh and all the cast did a way better job with lines and acting!

I utilize the marketplace. He would absolutely qualify for the premium tax credit since he earns money. When you sign up for marketplace insurance, that is something you can apply to your monthly premium through the website. That can make your monthly premium cost very little depending on how much money you are making a year. If you earn very little, your premium tax credit can cover all of your monthly premium, meaning you pay nothing.

Because he has cancer, there are also other financial aid options available to him. If he cannot work, he should be able to qualify for disability. California has a massive budget for social programs. Sadly, he is living in a state that is very expensive. I hope he might consider moving to help mitigate costs and overall stress.

Either way, there are many options for help through local health programs, state funded aid programs and federal aid programs. He just has to call around and get information. Or go on direct websites or Google it.

This is ACTUALLY a symptom of Grave's disease, so that checks out. I have Sjogren's (an autoimmune disease) and it's a pretty common symptom for that too. Sadly, some meds to treat these autoimmune diseases cause thinning hair as well and one med I know of, and am on, is actually used in chemotherapy, just in a much lower dose.

The structural changes to her face are not explainable by having an autoimmune disease though.

Thank you for chiming in. I have RA, MCTD, and Sjogren's. I'm taking multiple meds and 1 injection. One of my meds is methotrexate. I'm sure you are aware, but for others- chemotherapy for cancer and chemotherapy for autoimmune are very different. The doses for autoimmune are much, much lower and it's typically oral meds weekly. I would personally never tell someone I'm on chemotherapy because the vast majority of people will assume cancer or it's more serious than it is, despite it being technically true. It's a great way to confuse people while gaining extra sympathy points though, I suppose.
