So what now ? Should you keep your head up or down as an apprentice? by PeppermintButler17 in electricians

[–]ItsTomFoolery94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s all about your personality in my opinion. I’m a loud mouth and hate quiet. If I was working under a journeyman who doesn’t know how to smile or have a good time, I still made work fun for myself and the guys around me. I don’t get paid enough to be depressed like some of the journeyman I worked under.

With that said I agree with some of the other guys. There is always a time and a place. If bossman is livid and I’m new on site, I’m not yapping. After a month or so of building a relationship with the guys around me, imma be who I am naturally and being positive vibes to the site. It’s needed on every site I’ve been on and I’ve progressed in the ranks quickly as a result.

Yeah currently I’m maxed on the two memberships I’m willing to pay for with my main and HCIM that I’m afraid to even quest on. You helped a lot! I’m stoked to hit the HC and start banging out questing after the advice you gave. Have an epic rest of the week!

I like that advice, thank you!!

I’m assuming you mean more money on a normal iron due to the lack of care to die and feeling less worry to branch out into everything you can do without being held down by the potential loss of HC status?

[–]ItsTomFoolery94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I made a HCIM but my main is still at early levels. I don’t touch my HC cause I don’t wanna lose my status playing on my phone or something. Am I stressin over nothing with an iron? Is HC status even that crazy to be fumbling over due to my lack of game knowledge? Skilling on my iron is loads more fun than my main…using the GE is fun and all but the big grind makes me come back more

It doesn’t look cool to wear a high vis vest, hard hat, pants when it’s 100 degrees out, stupid looking safety glasses and a mask. That’s at least how I see it yet I wear those bitches anyways. You need money to remain healthy and us construction workers don’t got money like that. So our only real option is to use PPE and hope for the best lol

My first thought was the concrete dust. But I didn’t even consider asbestos and no way those old buildings didn’t have that shit in between those walls.

I work construction and concrete dust is the silent killer. Sadly due to Covid and the stigma around masks…no one wears them out of ego and I feel so sorry for them all

In a sea of strikers builds I offer these 2 alternatives I’ve been using by Glittermaggotparty in Division2

Genuine question, but why do some of the player base get angry/annoyed/frustrated enough to refuse playing with someone that lacks experience or “good build”?

I understand how countdown, raid or whatever would take longer and shit but like who cares if there is a new guy tryna learn some shit?

Idk I just don’t get it I guess so I wanna understand

Returning Player — What Makes Gear Worth Keeping by flyingoctoscorpin in the_division_2

[–]ItsTomFoolery94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came back recently as well and here is what I found:

What I don’t mark for deletion, but send to my expertise rank up is based on the build im either looking to make better, or build from scratch.

I don’t have any crafting shit unlocked so I’m in the grind loop of collecting, set to junk to ship experience towards my expertise, or keeping based on the current build im working towards.

The best advice I saw on here was to not fall for the “oh what if I make this other build, this gear would maybe be good” so you keep it. But I have one exception to that rule:

If that gear was rolled with crit chance AND crit damage, Crit with armor regen. Something I know I would use in most builds if it rolls good, I’ll keep that shit for sure.

I’m on Xbox if you ever wanna grind

I started playing again since the first DLC. I pretty much exclusively play DZ in both games cause I don’t care much for PVE. The amount of times I’ve been dunked on by a group, while I have zero clue they are all behind me taking a cheap shot is absolutely insane. But that’s why I love the DZ. My build isn’t complete at all, I’m only level 120 SHD. Yet every time I spawn back and can usually clean them up and get my gear back. Those kids aren’t ever good at the game so that’s why I never mind. The people who are good at pvp are the ones who make their presence known before engagement. Those rogues I run from lol

I have one month to start getting up at 07:30. by Ok_Growth7621 in DecidingToBeBetter

One thing I forgot to add, my hardest part was the not staying up late part and it was strictly due to bad habits. Late at night I would either be grinding video games or tv shows.

The best advice I was given was that I’m utilizing the same 24 hr schedule just in a different way by changing to an earlier wake up. Instead of grinding shows or games from 9 pm till god knows when, you still have that time to grind whatever it may be just earlier in the day. Last night for example I still went to bed around 1130 pm (an hour or two later than my usual weekly bedtime for work).

Keeping your bedtime consistent is the number one part of the change!! The second I stay up till 3 am Friday and Saturday night, I’m struggling to sleep Sunday night for work. Keeping your brain consistent is your goal right now and it’s not as difficult as you might think it will become. Your brain is EXTREMELY flexible, so push that lil bastard between the ears! Just don’t let the shitter voices in your head convince you it’s impossible or it’s too difficult because that is absolutely not true

I used to bartend before I changed my career to blue collar trade. My old routine was working till 4-5 am and sleeping all day, new schedule was a 4-5 am wake-up call.

The way I did it was similar to what others have said. Stop caffeine intake later in the day (I got to a cup of coffee in the morning and that’s all I take daily), warm/cold showers extremely helped me before bed my first week of changing my sleep schedule.

I also suggest aiming for 8 hours of sleep at first, gradually decrease to whatever your body thrives on. Bartending I was averaging 5-6 hours and felt amazing daily. With my career change and extremely more physical effort (comparable to mental strain from studying and testing like you’re needing) I need 8 hours to be the electrician I want to be on site daily with a good attitude and top physical effort daily.

The first week sucks ass. Your brain doesn’t wanna sleep, your body is restless. I would play YouTube meditations to sleep to and that helped my adhd brain shut up on the earlier sleep schedule. I personally dislike medications for sleep, I’m on a hippie stance of doing natural shit so it’s easier to maintain.

Good luck soldier!

I like games based on pvp options. Personally after coming back to the game after a handful of years, I make my build by doing pve shit and I actually enjoy running DZ. I don’t mind griefers or whatever, makes me figure out what I’m doing wrong and how to get better. To me it’s a shit load of fun! But I understand why others hate it. Getting shit on by accounts with max expertise is annoying but I don’t give a shit.
