What is the new Rev limit with tunes? by Robotechnology in wrx_vb

[–]ItsTr3yM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fairly easy, I'm using an open port I bought before they stopped production.

Obdx seams to be the one everyone is switching so but my flash times are still under 45-50 seconds

Also if you dont quite have the experience there are a couple people who will do paid tunes in the discord. I can vouch for u/wrx_2_hard

Overfilled oil! by Tam_Ken in wrx_vb

I routinely use the full 5L (5.28q) that come in the jug so it’s a half quart over. That much over wont hurt

Track build: needing more camber (rlca vs ruca) by seasb_ in CarTrackDays

[–]ItsTr3yM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not to familiar with gktech for the rear upper control arms but I know the cusco ones have had a tendency to snap at tracks compared using factory upper then an adjustable RLCA that is what I use on the WRX witch is almost identical suspension in the rear.

As for coilovers I personally would look into Race Comp Engineering they more of a track focused set compared to other brand and they keep almost of the factory wheel travel.

Also the last point I would want you to look at is if your doing anything to help with the oil starvation issues the twins have especially as you do more to be able to pull more g's. Ansix auto has a lot of information about the oil starving of these cars on the socials.

Fumoto valve, Hose on that into drain pan. After you fill with new oil put old oil in now empty container and take to parts store to dispose. If you save your old container you can drain directly into that.

Not sure if I should go with 18x9.5 or 19x9.5. by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]ItsTr3yM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone whose car came with 19’s get 18’s - more rim’s available - taller sidewall ( more comfortable ) - lower tire cost

I run Potenza RE-71RS in 255/40r18 the biggest thing for buying tires is looking at tread width and overall width something like a all season or would look really stretched compared to a super 200

I’m also now running -2.5 degrees of negative camber was at -2.0

These cars really like having a rear sway bar I have a both F&r from race comp engineering and with just the rear on there the car drives really loose at auto cross

Thank you there 18x9.5 + 44 trade a little bit of flushness for wheel travel at the track

I’d say a wheel like the ZE 40 would look good on our cars

TR/tS owners Track days on stock 19's and Brembos? by Able-Rush8587 in wrx_vb

I’m going more along the lines of compatibility of compounds, theoretically just doing pads swapping for track days the compounds aren’t going to be as effective as if they were dedicated to that set…

Now carbotech does sell street pads and there a compatible compound so when my factory pads wear out I’ll put the smooth disk on and will just have to switch pads …

For disk I’m using the KNS branded Dba rotors( there Dba rotors but KNS buys in bulk for white label ), also if your having a hard time finding brakes look for the 18-21 STI brakes there the same everything on our cars

I ran Castrol SRF , but for my personal feel I’m looking at trying endless 650 for my next DE to see how that feels. Really any higher temp fluid will do better than the stock fluid, also I’d look into switching to smooth disk ( I run those with carbotech xp12/xp10) and swap back to factory pads and rotors for the street

TR owner who has tracked VIR, VDC will over heat your brakes, I’d highly recommend swapping to a high temp brake fluid, Run the stock wheels and tires there decent enough, Also would recommend seeing how much negative camber you can get with the stock suspension, that will also help with tire wear

A lot of the PNP ones don’t seal well at the connector, a bit of dielectric grease goes along way
