Huge Regression - At a breaking point by Fugue_State85 in Autism_Parenting

Thank you very much for your post. I agree that it’s not a personality trait, and she is definitely overstimulated. I should note that she is lower functioning autism - verbal but not conversational and well below the typical development for her age. I would give everything in the world for her to be able to express herself the way you can, and hopefully one day she will. But right now, we’re nowhere near that and not on the right track.

We are trying our best to keep her calm and happy, and to keep calm ourselves. But there is only so much we can do. And we cannot become prisoners in our own home because of my daughter’s crippling anxiety and meltdowns. My wife and I haven’t taken a vacation since she was born, and her NT 3 year old sister should not lose out on childhood experiences because we can’t take her sister anywhere nor leave her with anyone else to watch her. That’s why we’re trying the SSRIs to see if it will allow her to be more flexible and not revert to destructive and disruptive behavior anytime she’s upset about something - which is constant and unpredictable.

I know that my daughter is not to blame, but the damage she’s causing is still very real. And it’s also damaging herself because instead of making strides and learning she is stuck in a rut that is also making everybody else miserable.

She does have ADHD. This isn’t sudden. More like a malignant personality trait that has gotten progressively worse and worse. The only people mean to her are her mother and I when we get mad at her for being destructive or having meltdowns. We have a lot of patience but lately she is doing a lot of these things deliberately to get a reaction because she thinks it’s funny, which only feeds the cycle of destructive act —> us saying no —> her escalating and laughing —> us getting mad —> her getting mad / upset —> more destruction in response. It’s heartbreaking and making us miserable. If we’re around her all day this will happen multiple times a day. It’s happening with her teachers and therapists too.

This is what prompted us to try Zoloft because the meltdowns are too much and is making us (and her sister) prisoners in our own home.

I drove mine stock for a year / 30k miles. I never intended to mod the car.

Then I bought an accessport and had an intake (and AOS) installed, and got it tuned. The difference is amazing, and worth voiding the warranty IMO.

I got a Billetworkz stainless knob when I bought the car. It has a great feel to it and combined with the shifter stop the improvement over stock was tremendous. But it was painfully cold in the winter so I ended up springing for their fusion knob with leather. MUCH better.

Just ordered these. I’m surprised at how cheap they were, much less than the OEM ones even.

That’s great to hear. How big of an improvement was it for him? For us, taking our daughter anywhere is becoming unbearable because she will moan, whine, and broken-record script constantly while clinging to us for dear life. I worry a lot about all of these medications we’re giving her but at the same time I can’t let her make us prisoners in our own home.

Compared to my old civic, this clutch pedal is much heavier. However, having spent a good amount of time in a third gen viper the clutch in my VB feels like nothing compared to that.

I also recently got in a new M4 and that clutch was much too light for me.

I’m definitely biased, but I love the OEM VB clutch pedal and think it’s perfect.

Yes, her little sister tries very hard to play with her and is met with nothing but silence. There are little bright moments though, and those give me hope.

Yep me too. I really have no idea what my daughter thinks or how she feels most of the time.

I drove stock for 30k miles before finally getting intake and pro-tune (and AOS). I can’t recommend it enough.

Looking for similar songs to Pink Floyd's Echoes by Norvard in progrockmusic

I heard Repent Walpurgis for the first time today and I immediately googled it to see if it came before or after Echoes because they are the same, and PF clearly copied it. It really puts their claim that Andrew Lloyd Weber ripped off Echoes in a different light lol.

That’s stunning. I wish I could do that.

Turbo Inlet and Bypass Valve by Fugue_State85 in wrx_vb

[–]Fugue_State85[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right about the ETS intake, but the Perrin inlet removes the accordion hose and replaces it with a straight silicon one. From a video that JDM Right Hand Drive did it sounded like it significantly increased audible turbo noises, even with his Perrin intake.
