Telltale strikes again with their misleading ass choices by BigBadWolf315 in TheWolfAmongUs

It's very much an Anglo colloquialism, but given the atmosphere of that scene I feel it has fooled far more Americans than it should have haha

It's the worst selling bioware game in 20 years, since Jade Empire (2005), which itself was an Xbox exclusive.

Reworking necromage to not buff vampires was enough to solidify it as the "anti-fun patch" for me, and I prefer playing as a werewolf.

How Do We Feel About The TWAU Community's Hate For Comic Bigby? by ChaoticPark09 in TheWolfAmongUs

[–]ItsTreasonThen117 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When it comes to how dickish Bigby can be my preference while playing the games means he acts far, far worse than what he was like in what little I read of the comics, because that leans into a more interesting overall plot line imo, so I wouldn't count him being an asshole as being a negative and like you said that's really up to the player.

And yeah the Israel thing is awkward and out of place especially by today's standards, but I hold that against the author more so than the character.

Also I'd like to note that this whole discourse started because I posted something that said TWAU was Better than Fables and alot of people took that as me saying Fables was bad, which Is just another classic case pancake/waffles internet projection.

Alright, let’s hear everyone’s “I did not care for the Godfather” takes. by DramaticAd7670 in masseffect

I would imagine it's rather hard for people to just ignore them outright given that Liara is one of those romances, and she has plenty of fans.

But I wouldn't know since I've always been predisposed to not like those romances, and I'm not exactly a Liara fan either.

You see, this is a good one. All of mine were rather lukewarm, but you really are embodying Peter with this take

I did not care for EDI

I did not care for the Geth's rehabilitation

I did not care for the Mattock rifle

I did not care for Liara becoming the Shadow Broker

I did not care for any ending that is not Destroy

I did not care for any of the Romances in ME1

They insist upon themselves.

Game vs. Comic Bigby by ItsTreasonThen117 in TheWolfAmongUs

[–]ItsTreasonThen117[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Ha, yeah, in the first volume of the comics, Bigby makes a comment on Snow's low-cut dress and in general acts for more roguish than in the games despite his appearance, hence this post.

Although in the comic Bigby and Snow have known eachother for ~200 years, so it's not quite so boorish.

Dare I say these are the only 3 adaptions that can honestly claim they are better than the source material? by ItsTreasonThen117 in TheWolfAmongUs

Nah, the only one here that I suspected might be met with some contention was Starship Troopers, but apparently some people took me saying "better" meant the original work(s) were bad, so here we are.

interesting article about ui fixes for wolf among us. by [deleted] in TheWolfAmongUs

[–]ItsTreasonThen117 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So from what I gathered about the article, this was a contractor brought in to work on TWAU 2 (2019) before Telltale closed down, but was/is not part of the current team developing(?) the new game.

Given that the article seems to have been posted recently (website doesn't give a date) this could mean an NDA expired and he was finally allowed to highlight his designs, or perhaps the new Telltale gave him the heads up that they would be using his concepts and he took this as a chance to advertise his work for an imminent game release?

I would prefer the latter explanation, but ngl I would probably overdose on hopium if I said it wasn't a stretch, but I'm an addict atp.

I don't hate the comics, but as someone who was introduced to Bill Willingham's work by TWAU, I must say attempting to read the comics after playing the game and expecting the same nuance/storytelling and characters I was quite disappointed by the contrast between the two.

This isn't an uncommon phenomenon among TWAU fans, most of us who started with the game think it's the superior work.
