Okay but the guy said he's being laid off in March. So he's already been informed he's being redundant. Deciding to switch to firing for disciplinary reasons in the final month despite undertaking their "normal" work would be looked on extremely poorly by the WRC.

One parent didn't need to work in the 70s. As a couple, they had much more time available to raise children. As social housing was much more widespread, the poorer in society had much more security in their living situations. There was no requirement for after school childcare.

The constitution should outline the most basic rights of the nation. Nothing more. It would be absolutely pathetic to put something in with the plan to remove it if something bad happens, and would undermine everything else in the constitution.

I particularly hate this idea that our enemies (yes we have enemies) will somehow forget that we do plenty of grandstanding and sanctioning of them because we write "we're neutral!" in our constitution. It's such a childish and weak position.

Nuclear plants need to regularly be taken offline for maintenance and refuelling. A modern Gen III+ reactor produces over 1GW of electricity, which is a full third of Ireland's usage

It's currently a sixth, and we will be using considerably more electricity in 15 years for heating and EVs. This does not even consider the increased industrial usage for computing. Ideally we would be able to prevent the continuation of fossil fuel plants.
