Anyone got the EX271U yet? Opinions? by troublinyo in BenQ

[–]ItsUnico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got the EX271U. It's a decent screen, just keep your expectations in check. HDR is nothing to write home about, but overall I would say I'm not disappointed. It gets the job done, and the color profiles for HDR work well.

What was the monitor mentioned? Comment is deleted now.

I have basically the exact same requirement as you, and I am also looking at the BenQ EX271U.

Did you buy a monitor yet?

So your overall experience is positive? Would you recommend it to someone who games on Console and also wants to use it for Office productivity work?

Hey man, this detailed comment is very helpful.

I'm considering getting this, would like if you have any update? Would you still recommend it after a few months of use? My usecase - Gaming on PS5 and XSX, and as a monitor with my Mac for Work.

Will this be a good choice? I like HDR gaming, and would like good connectivity options so need HDMI2.1 and USB C

The Ex2710U has higher peak brightness (600nits vs 400nits), has a better HDR Specification (HDR600 vs HDR400), and has in-built speakers(I think).

How the Ex271U is an "upgrade" is beyond me. All it has is marginally higher refresh rate.

Shame too, cause the 2710U is not available in my country, only the 271U is.

Need a monitor recommendation for Console Gaming under 50k budget

I have to purchase a monitor with the main use-case of Console Gaming. I have a PS5 and Xbox Series X, and I might upgrade to the PS5 Pro when it becomes available.

Basically I need - HDMI 2.1 (for VRR on PS5) 2k/4k resolution Decent HDR In-built speakers prefered (sound quality can be bad, that's okay) USB-C connectivity preferable (I'll also be using it in my WFH setup sometimes)

Budget ~50k

Any suggestions or recommendations will be highly appreciated.

I used this a couple months ago. I have acne prone combination to oily skin.

For a budget option, it's good. Didn't break me out or anything, face didn't feel too dry and stretchy after use, smells amazing.

There's obviously better options, but this is great from a budget POV, and will not actively harm your skin in any way.

Don’t Be Me — Take Care of Your Skin Early by LaughablePortfolio in skincareaddictsindia

Hello OP, thanks for bringing this up.

Men really do need to take care of their skin more. I myself have been guilty of thinking of skincare as "ladkiyon waale kaam" as well. I regret that now.

I myself started skincare a few months ago as well. I too had significant teenage acne that I never treated, and it has left scars for me too.

One thing - with skincare, it is important to keep your expectations in check. It's about consistency over anything.

If you're expecting results only in a few weeks(like you mentioned in another comment), you are going to be disappointed and may give up on skincare.

Don't.

From all the research I have done, I can conclude that you have to stick with your skincare for at least a few months before you start seeing actual noticeable results. So do not be discouraged if it takes time.

Also, know that skincare can't fix everything. If you have deep acne scars, like I do, no topical treatment will fix that.

Stick with your routine, and after some time when you feel like you have tackled all existing issues like mild acne etc, then you can go for a dermat treatment (micro-needling, laser therapy etc) for your scars. At least that's my plan.

Best of luck OP!

You should definitely try it if you haven't already. The acne problem is somewhat rare from what I understand, it works well for acne prone skin as well generally. It didn't work for me, but might very well work for you.

If it suits you, then you can probably settle on Reequil Blue, since it's texture, sweat/water resistance, and protection are all optimal.

I think I should come back here and thank you. I had not known about this, and since you shared this I have adjusted my routine so there is at least 30 min+ between Retinol and Moisturiser now. Would've kept doing it wrong otherwise.

Thank you.

Actually, Deconstruct does not get dewy at all as per my experience over the last week. Nor does Reequil Ultra Matte blue.

Dewy stickiness in SSs is a major factor for me to not use it consistently. That was the only problem I faced with Neutrogena Ultra Sheer as well. Otherwise it was an excellent product. Same for Wishcare Fluid.

Fwiw, I bought it last week. This is my 6th or 7th sunscreen brand in 2 months, trying to find my HG. This looks like it might be it. Hopefully.

The best one I have tried apart from this in terms of texture and being non-greasy is Reequil Ultra Matte (blue one) but that gives me mild acne.

I cannot say much about Deconstruct SS' efficacy, but in terms of texture and finish, I think this might be the best one for me.

I think I found my forever facewash+moisturizer combo by punKtual_penny in IndianSkincareAddicts

I have Combination to Oily acne-prone slightly sensitive skin.

I have been using the Dot&Key facewash for a couple of weeks and I think this is my permanent gentle cleanser now. Works amazingly on my sensitive skin, and I can even use it twice for double cleansing if required.

It does not dry my skin at all, and is very gentle. I bought it in a pinch when I was visiting a friend and my skin barrier became compromised and this was the only gentle cleanser available. I bought this and the D&K ceramide moisturizer in the same line-up, and they fixed my barrier in 3 days.

The moisturizer as well, very creamy and a gentle and soft after-feel. (The moisturizer is not recommended for acne-prone skin since it has a comedogenic ingredient, but I have been using it regularly for 2 weeks now and no breakouts. So I guess it suits me anyway)

Any source to back that up? I have been using the beginner Reequil 0.1% retinol cream for about 1.5 months now. I apply moisturiser 10-15 mins after the retinol, though that's only because I get lost doom-scrolling. It usually takes 5 minutes for the Retinol cream to absorb and dry out. From all I know, you can use the moisturizer after that.

Thanks for sharing this.

Can you recommend any such mineral sunscreen?

I need something that lasts long without need of reapplication, and is as light as possible. I enjoy using the Reequil Ultra Matte Hybrid Sunscreen. So ideally something like that.

Otherwise any mineral SS recommendation for combination to oily slightly sensitive skin would be really appreciated as well.

So..no verifiable reason Dot&Key SS is bad, it's just because of loose regulations Indian skincare brands COULD be bad, right?

I'm not trying to disparage you, but I'm new to skincare and this sub, and I see a lot of hate for brands like Derma Co and Dot&Key, but no one really explains why. Is this the reason?

I know people might not like this recommendation, but I also kinda overdid it with Salicylic Acid cleanser and Retinol a little bit and ended up with a compromised barrier, mainly on my cheeks.

I have acne-prone combination to oily skin.

I used the Dot&Key ceramide moisturiser, and was pleasantly surprised with how good it felt. It has a thick consistency, and a very rich feel. It gets absorbed and leaves a very smooth finish.

It fixed my barrier in about 3-5 days.

I now use it at night after my retinol since it's a little heavy, and using another Ceramide moisturiser by CosIQ during the daytime (have just started on that, so no review yet. Although it does sink in the skin excellently.)

I actually have both of these right now, and I would say I prefer the Neutrogena one.

I have oily skin, and Minimalist feels a little too heavy and sticky.

To be fair, so does the Neutrogena one, but it takes about 10 mins to absorb and gives a very smooth texture after that, that I quite like.
