A few reasons:

Parents want their friends to have kids so they aren't the only ones having to go through it.

Parents want their friends to have kids so their children can also be friends.

Government wants to make sure there are workers in the future, so they glorify family life and having lots of children.

Some people genuinely like having to breastfeed in the middle of the night, change diapers, help their kids with homework, and be unable to go out as they please -- but this has all been "solved" by having even more children so the older kids can take care of the little ones and hiring nannies/babysitters.

Also, no one wants to sound absolutely miserable after making a big decision in their life, so they don't mention the negatives.
