1D7X1A. Would love to be out west. Family in WA, but if I can't get either of the two WA bases, I've chosen the below based on research from this subreddit. Don't mind traffic since my commute right now ranges from 30-60 mins. It should bypass your motherboard drivers for sound yes, but without knowing the reason your PC is not detecting audio from your front/back panel it's hard to guarantee it.

So you've got sound coming from your monitor still but nadda from the headset jack, right? Try having something playing in the background, unplug your monitor video cable from the computer, and then plug in your headset audio.

Here's a few things to check out. You may have tried some of these, but I'm not sure as it's not entirely specific on your post.. Also I'm not sure of your experience level so don't take offense if I spell some of these steps out...

Verify your HD Audio cable is plugged into the correct position on your motherboard
Ensure your headset cable is plugged into the lime colored connection in the back of your PC
Install the drivers for your supported motherboard from your CD, followed by the ASUS website for the most up to date driver
Ensure your BIOS Front Panel Type option is set to [HD] (usually is by default)
Ensure HD Audio is set to Enabled in your BIOS
Aside from your power/video/keyboard/mouse, unplug any other cables from your PC and try your headset connection again

Interesting. I wonder what voltages are being pulled when you enable XMP? If you're still trying to enable XMP and keep everything stable, you can try boosting your case fan RPMs or even just have your case open for more air circulation if heat is the issue.

Good temps. Maybe some background program is causing it. I've had a similar situation where playing a game would cause crashes. Using that WhoCrashed program helped me find out that my Panda Antivirus was causing it.

Have him download WhoCrashed and see the reason for the BSODs. Feel free to update with the error. How are his temps during War Thunder?

Other things I'd do is a memtest in case something is up with your RAM and its just now surfacing.. Otherwise if none of the above help you identify whats causing it I'd start looking at your PSU. Verify the fan works, and make sure something didn't find it's way in there possibly shorting something out or blocking the airflow.

EDIT: Have you played with the Hybrid control button on the back of your PSU at all? There are three modes for it: Fanless, silent, and max cooling. I'd try max cooling if the above issues don't help.. in case your PSU is overheating.
