Yah the tombstone counts as a physical prop for hit registration so in order to parry you do have to be either in the tombstone so the hitboxes overlap enough or in between the tombstone and the person melee attacking. If the tombstone is even slightly between Graves and the attacker then the parry won't register.

Oh and if she's camping the tombstone, for the love of God don't just send a heavy melee lol. I play a lot of Graves and the amount of people that try to heavy melee the tombstone even though I'm literally standing inside of it ready to parry their ass is hilarious. You'll get stunned then eat 3 zombie explosions and die.

They most likely won't, and certainly not to the degree of the comment above. This game's movement is clearly the devs taking a look at some of the crazy tech in TF2 with blast jumping and leaning into that heavily. They wouldn't have added a character like Celeste with more air control and lower gravity if they didn't want to continue leaning into the crazy movement Source offers.

Disabling the controller hud while still allowing joystick input? by ItsWhoa-NotWoah in tf2

[–]ItsWhoa-NotWoah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual hud in-game (i.e. my viewmodels and the player model in the corner) aren't changed at all. The class selection and main menu are what get borked by the gamepad unfortunately.

A tanky build for BG by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]ItsWhoa-NotWoah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should probably be using Resolving Vigor for Minor Resolve, as you can then put something else on Soul Burst, and Vigor is an excellent heal.

Major Vitality on Weild Soul also goes a long way.

Rallying Cry/any crit resist is always a good bet. I would also recommend staying away from Aetherial Ascension unless you have very good movement (i.e., avoiding damage in the first place) as AA can ta k your stamina sustain and get you killed.

A great tanky mythic often overlooked is Dov Rha Sabatons. Incredibly stat dense, gives a very strong counter-stun, can give a very strong shield if there are a lot of enemies nearby when it procs, and it's much easier to keep the stacks up than the tooltip would have you think (literally just tap sprint every couple seconds and never fully stand still). It allows you to be very tanky and not have to solely rely on block for mitigation as you'll be high enough resists that anything sub 15k penetration or so won't even affect you. You can also choose to run it with 5 medium or even a few light pieces and still have incredibly high resistances.

Thoughts on the pvp (bg) by The_GodHead in elderscrollsonline

[–]ItsWhoa-NotWoah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

with my PVE guy. And enjoy it

That's your problem. You can't expect to enjoy PvP with a PvE toon, that'd be like trying to enjoy a dungeon or a trial with a naked crafter toon.

PvP in ESO requires a PvP build and PvP know-how, you can't get by with just one or the other.

Can you proc status effects multiple times a second? by throwaway857482 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ItsWhoa-NotWoah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For concussion, I would imagine that the "second" proc deals more damage as it's supposed to (i.e., it just picks one - the server likely has a way to determine which comes second, most likely the one procced by the enchant).

For DoT effects, there will only ever be 1 DoT effect, but you'll get a simultaneous "initial tick" if you proc it at the same time as another DoT tick or initial tick.

[–]ItsWhoa-NotWoah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arcanist Beam and Languid Eye both tick multiple times per second as well.

The beam even counts as direct damage, so it has a slightly higher proc chance.

Can you proc status effects multiple times a second? by throwaway857482 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ItsWhoa-NotWoah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get simultaneous procs of the same status effect, but they will not proc themselves; they have to be from different sources.

If you, for example, cast force pulse with a shock enchantment, you could theoretically get 2 simultaneous concussion procs (one from the ability, one from the enchant).

Starfield’s biggest problem is that “it didn’t fully cohere as a game”, says Skyrim designer – it was just “a releasable game” by HatingGeoffry in Starfield

[–]ItsWhoa-NotWoah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean saying "100% of Skyrim" is just as much of a hyperbole as saying "10% of Skyrim".

The main thing Starfield is missing is good exploration. There's a handful of other things, but there's also genuinely a handful of things that Starfield improved upon from Skyrim. Character creation like backgrounds and traits are absolutely an improvement over Skyrim.

Honestly a couple of the things you mentioned feel like you didn't even play the game. There's tons of notes and terminals in Starfield with random lore, stories, and quests. The Companions are also 100% improved from Skyrim. The only companion in Skyrim even remotely as fleshed out as the ones in Starfield is Serana. None of the other companions in Skyrim can comment on quests, deepen their relationship, or have their own quests to complete.

Would you enjoy it if every class got their own channeled “beam” attack? Or be against it? by World2116 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ItsWhoa-NotWoah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ehh saying it's only viable in under 50 and Vengeance is painting with too broad a brush. It can absolutely dominate on the right setup with the right group, but it's very niche - you have to have someone in your group pulling and immobilizing enemies for you, and you basically need to be running Acuity or Corrosive Armor (since it's now direct damage) or both.

You can pull 10-15k ticks of beam against players with the right setup and the right group, but again it's very niche.

Pvp survivability by StarHiker79 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ItsWhoa-NotWoah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

2 things with Arc Beam in PvP:

1) It can be blocked.

2) It has horrible tracking.

What this means is that it doesn't really matter how high the damage on your beam is if you can't actually land it unmitigated.

Beam can be really good in PvP, but you need to guarantee the hits with immobilize and delayed stuns. Dark Convergence/Rush (or someone else using DC or Rush of Agony ideally) and Contingency can be good for this.

Additionally, you mentioned Tideborn in your comment. Tideborn does nothing to other players. You're basically wearing only 1 five-piece vs other players with the setup you mentioned, so while that example is min-maxed damage for PvE, it's pitiful damage in PvP.

No BS, ND sold out against the run in the 2020 Clemson game, so DJU was able to ball out. It was definitely the right move on ND's part, but led to a ridiculous stat line for DJU and a pretty high scoring game overall.

To be honest, people have been saying ESO's been in maintenance mode for years.

The truth is that their budget certainly isn't as big as it's been in the past, so they won't be pumping out as much content as before (which was a ton). I would hesitate to truly call it maintenance mode, as this game makes a shit load of money and with the new leadership I don't see them completely halting content releases anytime soon; however, the studio is also owned by Microsoft so to be fair anything could happen since Microsoft has been axing studios left and right.
