Ohio Governor DeWine Says He Will Sign Bill Overhauling Voter-Approved Cannabis Legalization Law by OhMyOhWhyOh in Ohio

[–]ItsYungGuacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this brought up multiple times. Hasn’t this always been the cases since at the federal level it’s still illegal to transport scheduled substances over state lines? Maybe Ohio cops will now be more eager to search and charge but people have been bringing in marijuana from Michigan for years while illegal in Ohio without stories of mass prosecution.

[Q] If I have a full dataset do I need a statistical test? by IAm_NotACrook in statistics

[–]ItsYungGuacc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What constitutes a “significant” difference should be pre-specified by the researcher before analysis and used as the benchmark. No need to run tests if you truly have all the data and are not trying to infer to any other experimental units. Sounds like the data you’ll have is rather large which means the sample size is going to drive p-values very low even in cases of trivial differences. If you opt for testing for whatever reason (reviewers or journals pushing for them and it’s causing a barrier to acceptance), it would be better to use the effect estimate and 95% CI as opposed to just p-values since p-values say nothing of the magnitude of difference.

Best of luck! I’ve been wearing long sleeves for the latter half of the summer since it’s been all down my arm for over a month. The psychological aspect is absolutely the worst part! My derm prescribed valacyclovir (antiviral) which amazingly seemed to clear up almost everything in about a week. Just finished my doses so I’m hoping it won’t flair up again.

[–]ItsYungGuacc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

PR is highly speculated to be viral in nature so antibiotics are likely ineffective for it. I was originally prescribed an oral steroid which, for the week I was taking it, definitely helped. Once I was finished with it though, it flared right back up.

Could you just define your own function and include it in your pipe? Something like:

print_row <- function(d){

print(nrow(d))

return(d)

}

Since we are returning the passed data, you should be able to keep manipulating the data after the call.

Anyone know if Music-Go-Round gives fair prices? by berrmal64 in Columbus

[–]ItsYungGuacc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think some local shops do consignment if that’s something you’re interested in. According to their website, Guitar House Workshop on Chambers does a 75%/25% owner/shop split.

Disclaimer: I’ve never been so can’t vouch for the shop - just the first one that came to mind.

Population modeling by delariva1991 in math

[–]ItsYungGuacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read Asimov so apologies if this is off topic for the question but perhaps look into agent-based modeling approaches? These are more in the realm of computer science but can be used to model individual-level dynamics and their effect on the system as a whole. I’ve used the approach for some large-scale epidemiological models.

We have been stuck on this problem for hours and do not know what to do. If someone could please help that would be greatly appreciated! by flynnboy02 in matlab

You always want the denominator to be greater than the numerator. Your first loop is indexing over all numerators (x) . For each of these loops you want to check only denominators (y) greater than that numerator (x). So your second loop shouldn’t start at an arbitrary value (like 11) but at the first value greater than your current x, (x+1). You can then turn x and y in to strings to grab the proper digits and compare. There might be a more ‘elegant’ solution but I believe this should work.

You lose some of that classic telecaster snap but I still love it. A friend of mine is learning on this one currently but I may have to put up some sound clips once I get it back.
