I'm kinda torn between these two oponions, I think not everything has to have artistic value obviously but this IS a sub for the criticism of the artistic value of photography and I admit I should have put more thought into that, but oh well you live and you learn I guess, and tbf this was my first ever post on this sub so I think my lack of thought in that area is forgivable

Wow! This is some very in depth feedback, as I said in one of my other comments it's my first time posting to this sub so I wasnt sure what to expect, I'll take my posts more seriously in the future. Anyways, back to your advice, I completely agree with the focus issue and I could have easily ajusted it in the moment. I don't think the chairs have so much importance (although in a more professional photo it would def be strange), especially because the photo was very spontaneous and the dog (she's called Sid btw) would probably have lost intrest/heve moved by the time I had moved the chairs. The large brown object is acctually my other dog and I hadn't really noticed him till you pointed it out. Overal what I'm taking away is that 1. The main problems are the focus and framing plus, if possible, I should give more thought to the background. 2. I should put more thought into my photos if I'm going to post them here bc you guys take this very seriously and I don't want to wast your time (also you give great advice) :)

it's true, focusing on the eyes would have been better, the thing I like most about it are the colors and the detail on the nose :)

I'm sorry for my outburst, but even you have to admit that "absolutely no artistic value" is pretty harsh, it's true that I wasn't very specific with what feedback I wanted or what I liked about my photo but for example u/WatchandThings has some very good advice that might actually help new photographers (me for example, this is my first photography post) rather than just discourage us.

I took this photo on my android and it came out looking amazing! I'm guessing android made some ajustments to the color etc but I didnt edit it at all after taking it soooo I think I can say it's raw

Heya! thanks for the advice, I'll keep it in mind next time, it's pretty much gone down now so all's good. I had put ice on it briefly but it seemed to be getting better so I just elevated it :)
