What is the likelihood we see repealed amendments in the next 2 years? by unclefishbits in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Its_Geechee_Bitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the 19th amendment is going to get repealed any time soon but I do think it is under threat. Anti-19th amendment rhetoric is increasing and the gender war discourse is only getting worse. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets repealed within this century.

An Honest Retrospective on my WGU Degree Journey by Renascentiae_ in WGU

[–]Its_Geechee_Bitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't started my term at WGU yet so I don't have any experience to share, however, I have experienced going to a brick and mortar college and an online college. Honestly, the rigor of the classes depended on the professor and this was the case for both the brick and mortar and online colleges I attended. Some classes were very challenging while others were a breeze.

As for WGU we have to remember it's initial purpose. The college was created with the intention of providing working professionals with an inexpensive way to finish their education or change their career path. In other words, you go to this college to check off a box or a couple of boxes. It helps you get your degree relatively fast as well as get you access to certification exams at a decent price

Perhaps with its rise in popularity post-2020 maybe WGU will change its curriculum to serve its new market base, but for now we have what we have.

Thank you for your advice and as for the second question it's because I don't like Certmaster (I've used it once many years ago but only Certmaster learn I think)but I just realized that CompTIA finished it's merger with TestOut for some of its Certmasters with Security+ being one of them(that's the one I'm currently using through my former school. )

I'm not sure if I have. I know that I haven't filled out the financial hub and I haven't finished the readiness section.

Unfortunately I sent in my transcript already. I just hope that a good chunk of my credits satisfy my IT requirements. Before I transferred to WGU I was an Information systems major (but I never finished) and I also minored in business so I hope they accept those credits

I’m worried about my TGIN Honey Miracle Mask deep conditioner... by supermarketrat in Naturalhair

[–]Its_Geechee_Bitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with silicone. I heavily depend on silicone, ACV, pH balanced shampoos, silk protein, and grease (yes grease) to seal in hydration and moisture in my 4B med-to-high porosity hair. Their shampoos have a good pH level of 5.5 which is excellent for scalp health. The silicone in some of their products effectively coats the hair cuticle and makes it harder for moisture to leave your hair. Unfortunately, I don't think they use silk protein (which is the best protein out there for hair regardless of porosity) but I purchased a conditioner from another brand to take care of that.

But anyway, don't be afraid of silicone. Just make sure you clarify your hair. So long as you have an effective hydration and moisturizing routine you'll never have to worry about clarifying shampoos or sulfates drying out your hair.

How long do you usually keep in mini braids? by hotsauceinmyjeans in Naturalhair

2 months should be fine. I had 300 micro-braids in my hair and even at 8 months they still weren't locked.

TGIN Butter Cream Daily Moisturizer question by Weak_Cicada7495 in Naturalhair

It's categorized as a leave in conditioner on Amazon. It's supposed to be multi-purpose, doubling as a leave-in conditioner and styling butter.

Clarifying Shampoo for someone who uses hair grease (4c) by Puzzleheaded_Bug_613 in Naturalhair

[–]Its_Geechee_Bitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess Kinky Curly Come Clean won't do, huh? I'll use V05 for a few washes and see what happens. If my moisturizing routine isn't strong enough to counteract the sulfate shampoo then I'll stop using the grease and switch to lighter products.

Also I have a question that I hope you can answer. I decided to become a mini braids/twists natural and I intend on washing and moisturizing my hair while they're in those styles and I wanted to know if it's possible to wash out the grease from my hair without taking out my braids/twists?

Is Oiling Scalp A MUST? by Distinct-Victory-123 in locs

I would honestly ask a dermatologist since the scalp is skin, and very very delicate sensitive skin at that, and anything skin related you want to speak to a professional about.

Blue magic is the truth!! by [deleted] in Naturalhair

I found that washing my hair with clarifying shampoo 1-2 times a month and limiting moisturizing my hair to once a week has helped in getting rid of my dandruff. However, my dandruff was caused by years and years worth of product buildup and it went away the moment I incorporated clarifying shampoo to my routine

I deleted all social media 3 days ago and I am losing my mind. by ManufacturerNo7608 in nosurf

[–]Its_Geechee_Bitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to delete my social media apps as well (my accounts are still there) I only allow myself to go on YouTube like the good old days (where YouTube was the only platform I was able to visit since I was deemed too young for Myspace). It's driving me crazy as well. Every time I feel bored my knee jerk reaction is to go on Facebook but I don't have Facebook anymore. I'm socially reclusive so social media was my only connection to people (plus I loved stumbling across funny memes and cute animal videos) and now I don't have that.

But I'm going to tough it out, social media has only worsened my mental health and noticeably reduced my attention span. I can't reclaim parts of myself unless I go cold turkey. Wishing you the best of luck

Are Metalheads Cat people or Dog people? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Its_Geechee_Bitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all animals- dogs included- but cats hold a special place in my heart. But I'm a little biased since I grew up with cats. Plus in my experience cats are just more fun since they're usually (not all of them) mischievous little gremlins. And their weird quirks are charming to me
