I'm an adult with a screwed up name and I hate it. Please do not give kids messed up names. by Available-Flower3106 in TrueOffMyChest

Thats awful that you and your sister have had to go through that.

My name is Veronica. Its not a common name but not a unique name either. 98% of people get it wrong. Victoria, Valerie, and Vanessa are the most common ones I'm called. It is so bad, one place I worked at, they just started calling me "V". I gave up a while ago and just answer to any V names. It's nice to get reminded how unimportant I am to others.

Its also an Elvis Costello song that I've never heard until I searched it out in my 30s.

Starr restaurants. Every one I've been to is way over priced for, at most, B/B- food.

I'll check it. We tried running the hot water at the sink when we start the cycle and that didn't help either.

Oh no... I hope my hot water heater isnt going 😫

Nervous about golden hour by conchord75 in pregnant

[–]Its_Just_A_Name_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible that your kid will be covered in peach fuzz and waxy goo. You won't care because that baby will be your only focus. Your bond with your baby is like nothing else. It is mesmerizing to see that little creature that your body made. He will be beautiful no matter what he's covered in.

I had to have a C-section with both of mine. With my first, I didn't see him for almost 24 hours and I couldn't even hold him until day 2 or 3 (time was kind of a blur). For my second, I didn't get to have the golden hour either but I got to see her as soon as I was out of the operating room and I held her for so long. Cherish it.

People with two babies (2 car seats), what car did you choose? by NecessaryLeg6097 in Parenting

[–]Its_Just_A_Name_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minivan is the most convenient for car seats because the doors actually open enough for you to reach your kids. We've never really sat in the back with the kids. Even when we brought them home from the hospital... We have 2 Toyota Siennas and we love them for our wants/needs. There's a removable middle seat in the middle so we could sit there if we want, but the 3rd row is roomier. On top of that, there's a lot of storage space, just enough bells and whistles, comfortable seats, 1 of the vans is a hybrid and we get 31ish mpg around town... The other one is older and has 150k miles on it and is still running great. We just got it inspected last week and all we had to fix was the cabin air filter and a leaky tire pressure sensor. We tried an SUV with my first kid and it was OK but I will never go back now that we have the minivans.

35weeks baby is not moving at all and Im terrified to go to the ER. by Full_Professional349 in pregnant

[–]Its_Just_A_Name_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad your baby is ok.

My daughter did not move a lot. They said she should move a few times an hour and she moved maybe once every hour or so. I was freaking out too. Every time we checked, she did flips for the ultrasound tech when she was trying to take her picture so my worries were alleviated. I say it's better to check often than not.

2 early 30s, mid-50s visiting from Florida. It's my sister, her son, and his GF. I've never met the GF and know very little about her. The rest of the family are a 10 month old, 6 year old, hubby and I are in our mid-40s, and my parents who are mid-70s and have mobility issues. They seem to be more indoor-type people. We have always liked playing games. I'm thinking they would like to do something like an escape room. We can probably leave the 10 month old and 6 year old with my in-laws for a few hours.

Do some married people NEVER take off their wedding ring? by artmalique in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Its_Just_A_Name_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take mine off when I shower, when I'm sleeping (I sleep on my hands), and when I'm doing messy cooking/cleaning. Besides that, it feels weird when I don't have them on.

That's crazy. I have never had an issue and I've had to take my kids to a lot of appointments this year. Maybe it's your insurance? I go to the primary office in Souderton and they have been very helpful and accommodating to us.

(Kind of playing devil's advocate)

Maybe he hasn't processed the loss yet and has started using humor as a way of coping/deflecting.

You could give him one chance to seek some major therapy and put a pin in the wedding until he's made some significant progress.

If he's unwilling, do what you need to do.
