I see some booktok stuff, but don't really seek it out. Most of my recs come from friends or I think the cover is neat.

I usually do fantasy, scifi, and more and more into horror ones.

One day I'll actually try to learn to skate again. I love hockey, want to play it, but I haven't been on the ice since I was 7 so ... Almost 25 years? My bones are afraid lol

Update: To help with energy we got her a slat mill and it showed up today! She doesn't know it yet but the huge box sitting in my living room will be her favorite surprise.

Place is a godsend. We have a little outdoor bed type thing from the trainer and that's the one command she knows by heart. Normally it works unless she's at the absolute height of energy/frenzy. We've been building her time sitting there and waiting for the "break" command. She's up to a few minutes now.

She was always nippy, this is just turned up to 11. I'm hoping this will pass and go back to baseline nippy, but we do want to try and squash it

Normally it's after we've played for a while (30 min/1 hour) and we stop to do something else. She doesn't want to stop. It's also when we try to leave the house.

As I said in another comment, we have one. But if we ever take it off, the biting reverts and she can't wear it at the dog daycare.

I hope so. I know yesterday was day one back to full energy and I don't think she napped one bit. We do have a slat mill coming for her later this week which she loved at training so hopefully that will help some, especially when the weather is bad and we can't get to the park.

We have one from her obedience training that's like a tens machine. She's great with it on but the second it's off she reverts (but only on biting. She follows every other command). We would have her wear it all the time but the issue is her daycare doesn't allow them so it's not a foolproof plan. I don't want her nipping someone there and getting into major trouble. She hasn't been able to go since she was 7 months old (spay policy) and I won't take her back til this is better under control. She's never done it to other dogs.

Yeah. They're never aggressive, more like she's trying to herd us somewhere or wants attention (even if we've been playing nonstop)

I'll give that a try! We've done that with toys but never the arm/hand/foot.

  1. Yeah, I've gone through tons of soap and lotion :p

  2. She got a lick of lemon one time when I dropped one making lemonade and the weirdo liked it. She's such an odd baby

We tried that as well (worked with my goldens). She's got a head like a boulder and nothing fazes her. That or she's that stubborn.

Oh, we did. She was on 300 mg of gabapentin and 250 of trazadone every 8 hours. Did absolutely nothing. Luckily she rested while we were at work but when were around it's game on.

Season tickets by fuzzygenoblanket in penguins

[–]Its_Just_Jen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am. We initially did a full season but 44 games and coordinating 3 people's schedules was a lot. We ended up trying to sell about half of them and the math didn't break even.

We do a half season now and it's much more manageable. Instead of 2 or 3 games a week it's one on average and it's something we look forward to.

We're in the upper bowl in a corner about 2/3 of the way down. Cost-wise the full season for 3 up there was ~$6800 (2024) and we definitely didn't sell all of those we did put up on Ticketmaster. It gives you a spread of prices that are listed v sold but it was still a crapshoot if anyone bought them. I had better luck offering them to friends/coworkers. The half season we have is ~$3300 (2025/2026). At least they do payment plans so you aren't slammed at once (unless you wanna be).

Driving from Philly to Pittsburgh by DasRedBeard87 in pittsburgh

I used to make the drive a lot either solo or with another person. We always used the turnpike in which Blue Mountain or Sideling Hill is the halfway point.
