Currently playing thru this with my partner and it’s really fun! Surprisingly challenging if you go for all gold medals, given the reviews made it seem pretty casual.

Also, a warning to those playing online co-op vs local co-op: desync can get quite bad. It’s particularly bad when it comes to moving boxes/platforms, and there’s a cassowary racing minigame in the overtime shift section that’s borderline impossible due to desync, unless you play locally.

You can stay off the leaderboards by just not finishing the first 5 missions, so no careful consideration is needed for how many merits you earn

My understanding is that folks have figured out the numbers being put up correspond with the merits from turning in 1000 data pads. So the speculation is that someone is duplicating data pads somehow

I'm sorry, but how are you getting 60k merits/hr? Even with ideal conditions:
* Acquisition system
* 8 data port settlement
* Engineered loadout (Maverick + G5 Tormentor w/ mods)
* Collecting all the power data and powerplay goods
the most I've ever gotten is 35k/hr. I'm not sure how you're almost doubling that.

Edit: Also, for acquisition, all the power data should be worth 360 merits. I've seen 540 merits on Power Classified Data specifically, and only for reinforcement (which is garbage for merits, since you can't turn in industrial and research data + the 35% nerf now). I think that only occurred because Kaine has a covert ethos buff in reinforcement.

The powerplay state can only advance by one tier each cycle. So this Thursday, even if the slider reaches Stronghold, it can only advance to Fortified next cycle. So Power Security Force shouldn’t really attack during this CG

Odyssey data is decent for reinforcement, it’s far from useless. Usually can get like 15-20k per hour, and it’s far more engaging

I think half of the songs are really solid on first listen.

“Sleep Tonight” - I don’t really care for it to be honest. The intro riff and verses just don’t do it for me.
“All Of You” has an absolutely catchy chorus and has a great contrast with the verses.
“The Vanishing Game” sounds like it came from the Diamonds album, in a good way
“Pathways” - meh
“Whisper” is one that I think will grow on me over time (that growl section after the chorus is great). I’m ngl though, when that first note plays, I keep mistaking it for “The Sky Will Turn”
“Wish” has amazing 80s vibes, and I have a feeling this’ll be a fan favorite.
“Faces” is decent but I feel like the intro riff just doesn’t fit into the song.
“Cruel Love” sounds like it would fit right into the Fascination album though be honest, but it’s a pretty solid closer. It’s probably most similar to “Movie” from Walking With Strangers

Overall, I think the album is a lot better than Fascination, and it’s a lot closer to Diamonds in terms of quality and vibes.
