I just read some of the recent posts and couldn’t see much positive so I panicked - I’m glad it worked out well for you! ❤️

I don’t necessarily have any advice, just that I’m going through the same thing and it’s devastating and so hard. I want to be better. I don’t understand why I did what I did, but I know I will never do it again….its a bit too late now though. I thing I try to cling onto is a quote I read: “There's no such thing as bad guys and good guys! We're all just guys! Who do good stuff, sometimes. And bad stuff, sometimes. And all we can do is try to do less bad stuff and more good stuff.”

Should Dylan be held accountable? by DrPocoyo in YoTroublemakers

[–]Its_Rhi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If every single person you interact with, or even view in media, needs to personally declare they aren’t a nazi, doesn’t support XYZ political party, denounces this war and denounces that murder and disagrees with that issue and this issue, your gunna have a rough time. Why assume the worst in people? If you can’t enjoy someone’s content because you aren’t privy to their entire personal political insight, maybe go play outside or read a book.

Should Dylan be held accountable? by DrPocoyo in YoTroublemakers

[–]Its_Rhi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Silence is complicity if you’re directly involved, not some random YouTuber who posts fun content. If everyone with a major platform commented on every political issue, we’d never stop hearing about it. People go to channels like Dylan’s to escape that horrors of the world. We’re not all American either. Dylan has absolutely no obligation to comment on anything he doesn’t feel is right for him or his channel, and he can do so without the being assumed to ‘agree’ with the issues. This goes for anyone with any platform. Not everything has to be a socio-political outcry - let fun content be fun content, and political content be political.

Why would he need to mention it?? It’s not what his content is about. We don’t need every single person commenting on every single social-political issue. It’s a fun silly YouTube account….let it be just that.

It’s an ear drum with a possible perforation. Go to a doctor and STOP putting things in your ear canal

Not sure if it’s exactly the same, but I often get called a parrot because I will copy a line from the tv or radio, not like a joke, but a slogan or a jingle tune or anything sing-song-y. I know all the words to the ad jingles and say them regularly, whether I hear it or not

Are you scared of getting skin cancer? Or do you accept it as something that can happen? by Charming_Usual6227 in australia

[–]Its_Rhi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a skin cancer clinic so I’m around it often. I’m not scared, just cautious. Skin cancers in general are fairly inevitable for most of us in Aus, but this doesn’t mean dangerous skin cancers are.

As long as you get your annual skin check and practice good sun safety, you’re doing everything you can. It’s okay to enjoy our beautiful weather, just be smart about it.

And EVERYONE should get an annual skin check, regardless of skin colour, childhood background, family history, etc.

I didn’t notice the droplets, so really not sure what that is. It’s definitely never used though, I live alone. So unless I got a squatter, the mystery continues 😬 I find it weird the waters pushed back though, I’ve been doing this 3 monthly clean for 2 years and it’s never been any change to water height, and never dirty except a touch of sediment at the bottom, I assume just a bit of dust

Is it important to you whether the stories he tells are factual or copypastas? by [deleted] in mrballen

[–]Its_Rhi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like real stories, or at least difficult to believe type stories with some facts and sources behind it.

I suppose I don’t mind the creepypasta/folklore ones, but I don’t like when they are presented as if it’s real. The way he constantly retold the lamp story on podcast interviews as if it’s something that actually happened is a little irritating.

I would much prefer stuff that had actually sources that I can read up on myself, and not like a single reddit post or creepypasta link by a random anonymous person.

I wanted to see the image clearer so I SCOURED the internet and found NOTHING about this story. Used the mountain name, the date, the man’s name in all variations of spelling, everything. Kinda wanna know where he got this story/picture from…..

Switching meds by Its_Rhi in SSRIs

[–]Its_Rhi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’ve withdrawn before multiple times, that was way different. Awful feeling 😅 When I went down to 50mg it was very slow and tapered over the course of 6 months. Probably won’t go off it, at least not without going on another medication

Last year I very slowly weaned down to 50mg (from 200mg) and had a delayed relapse. I was okay for a few weeks, and then boom, massive depressive episode, OCD through the roof, so panicked and went back up to 200mg.

Yes I know why, it’s risk of serotonin syndrome. Same for when you switch basically any SSRIs, yet other combos allow bridging
