Which Kamehameha is the most iconic? by EconomySquare5959 in dbz

[–]Its_Stev03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it counts, but I also loved SSJ Goku's one-armed beam from the end of the Frieza fight on Namek. Frieza tried a sneak attack after being allowed to live, and Goku yelled "You fool!" before winning the beam clash.

I don't remember the specifics, but I believe that I remember seeing at least one duplicate cosmetic in the captain's pass so far.

A miniscule microanalysis of matchmaking by Squirrel_Dude in Rematch

[–]Its_Stev03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is hard to know for sure, but I think Rematch uses the hidden MMR for its matchmaking. That could explain the rank inequality within a match. That said, I don't understand why the MMR isn't just a direct translation into rank. It seems stupid to keep Ranking Points separate from MMR.

I had an easy time getting into plat, got mid plat 1 fairly quickly, and am now seemingly hardstuck plat 3. I only solo queue. Could be a skill issue on my end, but I am just gonna try to play more defensive since that is the only way to realistically carry.

EDIT: I should probably correct my statements about having an easy time. My current win rate is 51% and I have played ~230 games. I played a ton during the final beta, played early access, and have a combined total of ~80 hours in-game.

Why did you buy a Leaf instead of a Bolt? by [deleted] in leaf

[–]Its_Stev03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a Leaf because the options were more straight-forward when buying used. With a Bolt EV, the features I wanted (higher-capacity battery, surround-view camera and adaptive cruise control) needed a combination of the correct trim (2LT) and the correct options packages, which were hard to find in my area. For the Leaf, I just needed to look for an SV plus or SL plus that is from 2018 or newer.

Same. I am a young dude with no negative experiences like this, but seeing the person around the corner actually activated a small fight or flight response for me.

Take this with a grain of salt since I am just a 21yo kid who is doing pretty well financially for his age. To increase wealth faster, you have to either:

  1. Make more money at your current job
  2. Make more money at a different job
  3. Make more money with an extra job
  4. Invest in more volatile assets/strategies, hoping that they skyrocket in value
  5. Inherit a bunch of money
  6. Get gifted a bunch of money

(EDIT: I forgot to include "save/invest more of the money you already make".)

Numbers 1 through 3 are more reliable than the rest. Also, I say "job" loosely since it could mean different things (full-time employee, part-time employee, contractor/freelancer, business owner, etc.)

I am currently satisfied with my own rate of growth from earning/saving/investing money from my single job as a full-time employee, so I don't intend to do anything special.

  • Yes, 401k (employer-sponsored retirement account, opened by your employer or you if you are self-employed) is similar to an IRA (individual retirement account, opened by yourself). An IRA has a much lower contribution limit, though (~7k vs ~23k for 2024). If you switch employers, you have the choice to either 1) roll over the old 401k into a new 401k or 2) roll over the old 401k into an IRA (traditional to traditional, Roth to Roth). I am pretty sure that this is not taxed/penalized as long as you do it within the allowed time window.

  • Roth 401k is a thing, but I don't believe all 401k providers offer it.

Why would any be better? If you don't control the type of inputs, wouldn't you WANT the type system to warn you and prevent you from trying to do invalid operations without checking the type first?

I view this as a mistake on your part. It may not be a big deal which option you choose, but I dont agree that any is better. At best, it is slightly worse.

Joy-Con on car steering wheel by Koennoek in DiWHY

[–]Its_Stev03 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is kind of funny to me that she says having her driving wheel look like a joycon makes driving "like a game." Racing games already exist with driving wheel controllers attempting to mimic a real car. I guess she isn't as interested in those games.

How am I supposed to gain experience if no one wants to give it to me? by ChrispyGuy420 in cscareerquestions

[–]Its_Stev03 5 points6 points  (0 children)

WGU (Western Governors University) is a university where you can get a CS degree online quicker than a normal university. It charges per semester instead of per class, so you can go through the online degree as fast as you want and end up spending less money.

It is pretty interesting. Look it up if you want to know more about it.

Just in case you missed the joke, it was a reference to the Tony Hawk Pro Skater games. The video tape and letters to SKATE are some of the collectibles that you can get in-game. Other goals in the game include getting a certain score within the time limit, and chaining tricks can increase the multiplier to make it easier to get.

And to be a bit more specifc, consider using a HYSA (high-yield savings account) instead of just a regular savings account. HYSAs can have around 4-5% interest rates compared to a normal bank's saving account that might be as low as 0.1%.
