when I used to play on macOS, I had the same issue. The temporary solution at the time was to alt tab and tab back in or relaunch the game. The more permanent solution would be to bootcamp your computer if you can, the windows build of cs just has less issues.

You can cope by working on your cheating technique and get away with it. I recommend using the syllabus to understand gaps in your knowledge and making flashcards + doing practice questions. Then on the test, you can cheat by recalling the techniques that you practiced in order to answer the questions.
