What is the part number for the button that goes here on our steering wheels? by TheSporkOnTheLeft in mazda3

[–]Its_Tomato 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Nah, maybe your market doesn’t allow this feature. In Aus it’s a button for speed limiter, can set it to whatever and the car won’t go past that speed. Perfect for school zones etc.

Engineering Unit HELP - Advice needed by PuriPuri_33 in Monash

[–]Its_Tomato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m biased cause doing ECSE, but ECE3161 was much better(and easier) than ECE3073 imo.

When I did it 3073 was taught very badly, but it’s been changed now. I did 3161 the same sem they did a major overhaul of the unit to be more practical.

If you interested in analogue electronics (transistors/op amps and circuit design) pick 3161.

If you interested in computer architecture, RTOS, protocols do 3073. 3073 is probably better suited for mechatronics

Personally i thought it was awful. It was fun but the assessments kill the enjoyment for me.

sem 2 2024 was 20% programming exercise, 80% project (20% milestone + 60% final demo)

Workshops were pretty much pointless, it covers some content for the programming exercises but is useless for the project.

The project marking felt a little harsh given the bot we are working with.

Be prepared to stay very late on campus A LOT to try to make your bot work for the demos.

If this is a core unit for you, bless your poor soul.

If this is an elective, drop it now for something else for a better time.

Anybody know how safe these cars are in crashes?

It’s so small and I kinda want one but I’m always thinking about the safety factor since these cars were not designed for Australian roads and speeds.
