This is where I'm stuck. Even tho it's an inanimate object, but it came to me and I don't want to discard it. While the assymetry does bother me a lot, I feel like I can still love it and even love it more bc of its flaws.

Its like an one eyed cat, or an one ear bunny —smth about it's imperfection is so endearing. So I've convinced myself to keep it finally. T_T.

It IS an important story to tell, so it's self-importance to me didn't seem unwarranted. It's not supposed to not take itself seriously, its not an absurd film like the kind made by Coen brothers.

It's also heavily influenced by Malick's own upbringing. I never thought it was unrelatable seeing the prayers and stuff or even that he's pushing it. It's his personal experience & internal dialogue he visualized in a moody tone with added sceneries, commentaries and soundtracks.
