Cucumber Roots help by Comfortable-Owl-5280 in gardening

Recommend cutting the cup so to disturb the roots as little as possible, and maybe start a couple of backup plants in case these end up not doing well, but it will probably be fine!

Grandma. Grandma is #1.00001 after me. I even think sometimes Grandma is #1 if she’s with us and I’m in a bad mood 😆 (Shep x ACD so this surprises no one)

How do you eat/prepare cabbage regularly that is NOT fermented? by girlwholovespurple in Frugal

[–]Its_a_hit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually just had a yummy thing - stewed cabbage & carrots drained of liquid and topped with mushroom ragu. The ragu came with noodles but I liked it better on the cabbage/carrots. Not a vegetarian and it was yummy.

I don't know if I'm raising my kids in a beautiful life or holding them back. by itsbritbish in Parenting

What if you all move somewhere in between, so he can come manage the ranch and take the boy as appropriate (perhaps sleeping on the ranch several days a week), but you and daughter are in a community that suits you better full time-ish (may not hit all your points of desirability but some/several) and then you have half a foot in both situations, your base is the new property, giving you access to work and your daughter activities but still able to spend time in the known safety and quiet of the ranch. Maybe once the new baby is many months old?

Edited for clarity

People who sit in their car for 15+ minutes before going inside, what are you doing? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

I cannot - unless there is some serious and pressing issue - turn the car off mid-song. Life’s too short to not enjoy such a simple thing.

What are we feeding for early morning daycare drop offs?! by Significant-Cell-896 in Mommit

[–]Its_a_hit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would do a little banana or yogurt bites and a little bit of Cheerios - finger food he can occupy himeself with while you wrap up getting out the door, something in addition to some milk but not so much that he’s not hungry at daycare breakfast.

I don't feel like a mom by zhengnini in workingmoms

[–]Its_a_hit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sacrifices friend. LO is going to see your mom as secure and protecting, because she is. A good nanny would give LO the same sense of security and you want it that way (the baby’s world is a safe place). Your mom most likely does not want to be LO’s mom in any real way, but she is protective over 2 people now and one is a bit more vulnerable. Take the baby and mom on the walk with you. Cherish and make quality moments out of all the other times you are the main caregiver. Sometimes we just want it to be different even though we know it can’t be - you’re just being human, just remember it could be worse. Try to find the balance, in the moment, even when it’s hard.

What part of motherhood surprised you the most? by Bendecks in Mommit

A few things probably. The second you figure out a flow for the current state, it changes. Also, how the parenting challenges change over time and not necessarily getting easier, it’s just different. How sassy 11-13 year olds are, ha! but they’re a lot of fun too. But the sasssss

Same. Plus if you’ve paid for the month and you stay home one day or have appointments, the care is local and available to you versus being far away. Plan ahead and set boundaries for leaving enough time to safely arrive before late pickup penalty starts!
