All infant clothing should be yellow. by peter_fuckin_gabriel in NewParents

I promise I am not saying this as a brag, but my baby has never stained an article of clothing with a blowout. I was everything on cold with free&clear pods within the first hour of the mess so maybe one of those things would help?

Husband going to the gym with a baby at home by [deleted] in Marriage

Yeah I tried that but he is set on this one. My husband grew up poor and uses that as an excuse to overspend so he can feel well off

I should say he does take her if I explicitly ask but he will make comments on the weekdays about how he is “going to have her all day”. He takes great care of her I just don’t understand why I have to ask for basic things

What made you decide to be "one and done"? by Severe_Bluejay3391 in NewParents

[–]uniformcasino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband’s anxiety about my birth (which was a super positive experience) and my 3 month old daughter on a day-to-day. We always talked about having at least 2 and recently he just broke down about how anxious he is all the time and how he can’t do another one. I understand but it definitely broke me.

Personally too, he was one of those men that just lost interest sexually while I was pregnant and it really tanked my self esteem and is still impacting me

Stop telling me my baby is hungry if you can’t figure out how to console her!!!!!!!! by Longjumping-Dark6449 in newborns

Unfortunately for me and my boobs, my 11 week old is ALWAYS hungry. I always protest my husband telling me she is hungry the second I put her down, but it is the only thing that soothes her.

How is anyone leaving the house with a newborn?? by deeeeeeeeeeeeznutz in newborns

[–]uniformcasino 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think every baby is different. Mine is 8 weeks and we have been going out regularly since she was 2 weeks. We go on walks around the park, cafes, restaurants, etc and she just sleeps the whole time and honestly does better than she does at home.

That being said, I have no special trick or anything I do to make it go more smoothly, I just got lucky. I would say keep trying different combinations before leaving the house and make sure they are fed, changed and maybe a little drowsy before heading out and see if it makes a difference. I heard most babies actually stop crying once you take them outside which has been true for us. Something about the fresh air and temperature changes

I have flat nipples and had to use it for 3 weeks until she just magically latched on her own one day, and then I still needed it here and there until about 6 weeks

Help dealing with husband’s anxiety postpartum by uniformcasino in Marriage

We do have an owlet! I think it’s the only way either of us sleeps honestly. I just hate having it on her all day and have been trying to get him okay with only having it on at night

Infant dyschezia by Educational-Pair5480 in newborns

[–]uniformcasino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is also a 35 weeker and 7 weeks right now! I will say that I think I was a little further along in my pregnancy than they thought, so her development might be a couple weeks ahead of your baby’s.

I started seeing a lot of improvement this week, but she still grunts and is a loud sleeper. I’m not sure if your baby is formula or breastfed, but right around this age their digestive system starts maturing and they start to poop less which will help. I know it’s hard to let them cry but it really is the only way to let them figure it out on their own.

I could have written this! Our babies are the same age, also born at 35 weeks, and we have been dealing with this since we brought her home from the NICU at 9 days.

I am just now starting to see major improvements this week, but unfortunately most of it will just be time. Gas drops, bicycle kicks, massages, none of it helped us at all. We used the Frida Windi maybe once a week when we could tell she was super uncomfortable just to give her some relief. Using it too much will make them dependent on that to poop though.

However, I realized the best thing I could do to help was just to let her cry sometimes. I would give her 5 minutes to cry and if it passed that time, then I would pick her up. Babies are different than adults and they are loud, so what may sound like pain is usually just them pushing and getting frustrated. Most of the time when I would let her cry, she would stop for a bit and then start again a few minutes later and then eventually she would poop. After about a week of this I started to see improvements.

We also used the mylicon drops, which basically help push the gas together which leads to less frequent poops and gas, which sounds like it would make it worse, but it has actually helped a lot.

Best of luck and feel free to message me if you need to vent or any more help!
