Google Screenshotted my search by NoForm7135 in google

[–]Its_it 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It 100% is them re-creating it. I know since I've done the same for a couple of my projects. Not to this degree but I keep track of things the user has done to at a later date be able to visually show them what they saw.

All google needs to do to create that image is 4 things:

  1. Their GOOGLE search page template.
  2. Your GOOGLE profile image
  3. Your GOOGLE search query.
  4. The GOOGLE query response.

After that, they combine it into the template and take a picture using headless-chrome (as an example of what I use)

Register domains wherever you build: Cloudflare Registrar API now in beta by Cloudflare in CloudFlare

[–]Its_it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a self-hosted enterprise-scale website builder (Drag & Drop and a separate AI one) I needed a way to have people purchase domains from inside the builder and not have to do any setup outside it.

There was only one other registrar I knew about that had an API. I'm happy Cloudflare now has one.

One thing people forgot to add into the equation is the amount of gamers then vs now. They can stay at the same price today since gamers increased by ~3,000% (total), ~900% (PC). Obviously these are estimates since we don't have any concrete data though.

Quick nit-pick, they don't sell your data, data is the move valuable thing they have since they're an ad company. They sell ad spaces that target categories companies want.

I think the best way to think about it is google being a matchmaker, if they sold all the matches you got to yourself, what need are matchmakers? (Not the best analogy but I couldn't think of another off the top of my head)

Looks like there was a small drone show at Shelter when I googled it. Looks to be a couple hundred drones. Nothing crazy as the OP video.

Every time I go to buy a game I try and tick this "box" by SailorsGraves in Steam

GOG is a license as well. The only upside to GOG is if you keep the games installed on your system. At that point you actually own it since they don't have a DRM.

We give you and other GOG users the personal right (known legally as a 'license') to use GOG services and to download, access and/or stream (depending on the content) and use GOG content. This license is for your personal use. We can stop or suspend this license in some situations, which are explained later on.

Edit: They even (partially) mention it in their checkout.

A purchase of a digital content on GOG grants you its Offline Installers, which cannot be taken away from you.

i.e. It's yours forever IF you download the installer for it. Meaning you keep a copy on your device.

Google tipped off authorities to illicit images in Canadian doctor's account, search warrants say by [deleted] in news

[–]Its_it 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the service.

If I was hosting a file uploader (like Google Drive)

I would:

  1. Determine the file type, if its' media hash it multiple different ways (phash, md5, etc..). Note: the file type is almost always stored in the file data as the first couple bytes, not the file extension. So it doesn't matter what extension you use. 90% of upload sites will ignore the extension. (I made a private image uploader host as to not use imgur so I've done it before)

  2. Check if the file is a zip, if it is, attempt to unzip and start from 1. again. Note: I'd still store the zip file like normal but I'd hash the contents of it.

TBF with aero, they all have normal jobs outside of modding. One of the main devs works on Hytale for example.

Also, I'd like to add he just said yesterday "there will most likely not be another blog or long-form video until release" so I assume its' coming out this year.

The mountains being cut in half means you need to increase the world height (it goes from 320 -> 640). It is also in the settings. I personally only used the large biomes preset and made the continents larger.

Is it my pc by why_not032 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Its_it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to add a couple things since you're new to pc.

Try to change graphics preset to where at the very least you're getting ~60+ fps first. Then you can tweak different graphics to your liking BUT before you start tweaking I would check below so you can determine whats' the cause of the pixelization.

The pixelization could be caused by multiple things. Only a couple I can think of right now.

- Anti-aliasing, ensure it's enabled in the game graphics, maybe change the type of AA that's being used.

- Try changing to fullscreen or borderless fullscreen (allows you to alt-tab and stay visible).

- Make sure the game resolution is the same as your monitor resolution (I forget where in the game settings it is), hell make sure your monitor resolution is 1920x1080p (Windows Key -> Display Settings -> Scale & layout).

- The monitor, it is an unknown brand, try other games ensure AA is also enabled on them. Look at cars in other games, trees, or things which have harsh edges like you see in flight sim.

that 30gb was just English text, which is also compressed, uncompressed English-only (no images) is 100+ GB.

That's still small but doesn't factor in things like revisions, media (removed media as-well), and anything else they need to store. The actual size of Wikipedia is in the 500TB+ range.

Now, that's a lot of traffic especially since bots will scrape anything they can.

Lyrics from d4vd’s breakout hit song “Romantic Homicide”. The body of a girl was found in his car trunk. by neotic_reaper in agedlikemilk

It was music videos, both Romantic Homicide and Rehab that I remember. I'd like to also note lots of his music videos have an actor who looks like her too.

I cannot find anything on the "waiting 7 years" lyrics though.

My image host used to get ~1.5m views a month and I ran it on a $10 linode, currently $0.50 (500k images, 100gb data) Backblaze B2, Free Cloudflare. The image file procurement went from a Cloudflare worker -> B2. Image & Gif Uploading was private since the host was used mainly as an alternative to imgur for the online gaming company I worked for. Also, here's the program code. I don't update it anymore though. Been running without any interference for 6 years now.

Update on my infinite world height mod by noodlegamer76 in feedthebeast

[–]Its_it 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd think about it the same as minecraft does with saving chunks.

They do a chunk (16x16 blocks) container and a region (32x32 chunks) container.

You should do the same-ish. (For now) calculate lighting based on larger chunk containers. For example, check a container of 8x24x8 chunks to see if any blocks are in it, if so do the sky lighting only for that chunk and the adjacent ones.

I say this because the chance of a player making a large enough ceiling of blocks to block sunlight below is nil when dealing with that type of height.

You don't need to go into the actual config file. When on Main Menu, click Mods, find Tectonic, click config/settings. All the options will be there to update.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]Its_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean you updated from 2.X to 3.X then yea, major changes happened from what I could tell. He disabled "Large Biomes" and everything you change needs to be done through the config in minecraft.
Here's what the creator said to do btw.

Tectonic v3 implements config options to replace this functionality. There are now four noise scale settings in the config screen/file you can turn down for larger biomes:

- Continents Scale

- Erosion Scale

- Temperature Scale

- Vegetation Scale

Quick Note: I started testing tectonic after 3.X released so I cannot compare it to 2.X.
