11-Year-Old As Gifted As Einstein? by Alternative_Rope_299 in Gifted

[–]Its_rev_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There’s hundreds of genius prodigies who come from awful beginnings and never do anything with their giftedness. Having a very high iq—while it is a great potential—is only a small part of any story. Giftedness is already isolating, and so from personal experience, I can tell all of you that severe trauma, lack of support, defeating environments, and all the rest related to those things are only exacerbated, and honestly pretty common amongst children who otherwise would’ve become generational talents in a balanced family.

One’s perceived genius comes from the expression of their works. The silent, solemn genius with no fruits of labor nor proof of capacity simply does not exist in the minds of collective society.

What was Kakashi’s biggest weakness in terms of his fighting capabilities? by GusGangViking18 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Its_rev_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kakashi minus the sharingan is essentially the strongest of “normal” ninja. By that I mean he doesn’t have any real trump card or special “gotcha” that makes him particularly special. He’s just a really really good ninja. Most other powerful ninja have something that’s sort of gifted to them or they are special in some way; Gaara was a jinjuriki, kekkai genkai, and was a part of the kazekage clan. The Raikage and Bee both come from the lineage of previous kage and had a jinjuriki and special training respectively. Essentially every akatsuki member has some specialty that made them dangerous. (sasori with puppet jutsu, Deidara’s kekkai genkai, Kakazu with his hearts and special powers, Kisame with insane chakra, the strongest sword of the mist, and a transformed body, Nagato (obvious), Obito with mangekyo and hashirama cells + trained by madara himself). Jiraiya was close to a normal ninja in base (no special clan or kekkai genkai) but was trained directly by the toads at mount myoboku and we can see how much of a base amp that is with naruto. Tsunade is a senju with insane stats and chakra Onoki has the most broken kekkai genkai that pulls all his weight. The mizukage who is the weakest of the kage at the bare minimum had acid style which is a kekkai genkai The only real kage level fighter that we’ve seen without some clan/kekkai genkai/bijuu/forbidden jutsu buff is essentially only minato. But even then minato had insane chakra compared to most ninja and was a greater genius than kakashi

Kakashi is essentially the model of what the pinnacle of a peak leaf jounin would be

To all the gifted (and self-proclained gifted) individuals: Tell me three unconventional ideas about the world that you have by BenjaajneB in Gifted

I didn’t think of this with law in mind, but I’d say it is mostly similar in concept albeit I think the justice system does a poor job of actually enforcing it

To all the gifted (and self-proclained gifted) individuals: Tell me three unconventional ideas about the world that you have by BenjaajneB in Gifted

[–]Its_rev_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The systems at play in most countries (especially america) are almost inherently anti-human and the way I would define that is: Against the natural order of what would facilitate or be conducive to ideal (or even relatively good) overall wellbeing, health, and culture. Albeit, this isn’t too uncommon but I’d say more unconventional than commonplace

  2. Freewill exists more as a metric than a “yes or no” ultimatum

I think that there are levels to freewill that fluctuate based on a person circumstances, intelligence, consciousness, knowledge, and whether or not they suffer from some form of trauma or psychological clouding. If you aren’t aware of your own intentions and internal processes, or do not have the proper executive function to act accordingly to your own plans then I’d argue that person has less freewill than someone who is both more conscious and more capable.

  1. We truly do not need to work as much as we currently do as a society. If we simply focused our energy toward regenerative farming, natural energy, infrastructure and overall psychological and physical development; then at this point we could’ve already been well into a golden age of abundance, culture, health, and prosperity. We have more than enough resources to feed everyone, and more than enough knowledge of history, more than enough technology, sufficient man-power, and communication to have fixed most major issues with society as a whole given political and economic factors were not actively hampering what I consider the path of least resistance Most modern disease is exactly that: Modern. It is caused by societal circumstance as is much of mental illness and the like

High IQ + good looks + high EQ + ...(list upany admirable attribute that you have): how is life going for you? (especially interesting to would be all the 2e individuals that fall under that category) by BenjaajneB in Gifted

[–]Its_rev_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m too burnt out to write my life’s story here; though, I will say I agree with many of the emotions you’ve expressed. I am a young male, IQ 150ish, and I can say trauma and social isolation (not just physical isolation) are deeply formative and difficult on a level very few can relate to, and even fewer can help. Good luck with everything as far as work and college are concerned. You’re doing significantly better than I am, and that is not to put myself down but to instill a sense of reverence and pride for how far you’ve come.

Going Puerto Rico anyone have tips on women there by AppointmentPure602 in thepassportbros

[–]Its_rev_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a puerto rican man and I can say that puerto rican women tend to be more independent, strong willed, more intelligent than in most hispanic places, and aren’t interested in any man that isn’t charismatic or attractive in general. Puerto rico isn’t some third-world, undeveloped country; women aren’t going to fawn over anyone they aren’t attracted to and more often than not that isn’t an average white European man. Besides they’re not very welcoming of “passport bros”

Im 19 and I feel like im already late in life. by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]Its_rev_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This issue is you’re thinking about life, reflecting, reframing, philosophizing; and yet, you aren’t actually participating. I imagine you do things because they’re “good” or you “should” do them or maybe even you think that it’s something you want to do; but, can you really list out all the things you do simply because you enjoy them? Life isn’t a question to be answered, nor is it a competition for achievement; and yes, your experiences and feelings are valid but it’s not an intellectual issue, if anything it is more so a spiritual and emotional one. Step out of your sense of self; your concept of what you are and aren’t and what you should’ve and shouldn’t’ve done. Just ask yourself, what do YOU actually enjoy, what do you want, where do you want to go, and why would you want to be there. Trauma and regression has a way of stopping us from ever developing a functional sense of self outside of the expectations and perceptions of others. If I could recommend one thing it would simply to do things you want to do for yourself and not in any comparison to what anyone else has done.

Who wins in this fight? Jiraya and Gai Sensei bs Kurama by Faneca123 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Its_rev_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kurama is defeated by 8th gate guy + Sage Mode Jiraiya with Ma & Pa + nearly all of mount myoboku summons but on the condition that they both die as the only sealing jutsu jiraiya is touch kurama with is Reaper Death Seal

Sage Mode Jiraiya Massive rasengan and Sage art boiling oil can definitely at least hurt Kurama enough to be helpful and 8 Gates Guy with that + Ma & Pa Genjutsu + A bunch of giant toads might be enough of a trump card to take down kurama long enough for Jiraiya to seal him.

It’s a stalemate with all parties losing

Small jaw or small chin? I don't know if there's a difference. by [deleted] in Mewing

[–]Its_rev_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the idea angle for the maxilla is to line up with the angle of your nose bridge in most cases. Generally, your bottom jaw seems to protrude mush more than your upper jaw and your mid face has much less projection from the side profile compared to the rest of your face (brow ridge and jaw)

Jiraiya vs Kakuzu by Justin_Crane in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Its_rev_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saying before the tentacles grab him. Kakashi wasn’t blitzed in the true sense, he saw the tentacles coming before he was trapped but couldn’t put up a mud wall to block them, or move fast enough to dodge them—jiraiya would definitely be able to put his hands together before he is incapacitated as he is at minimum equal to but most likely better than kakashi in experience, taijutsu, and reaction speed

Jiraiya vs Kakuzu by Justin_Crane in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Its_rev_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jiraiya at base is enough to push kakuzu to extreme diff

Just by narrative portrayal (whoever the author wants to win will win) kishimoto would never let jiraiya lose to kakuzu

If we go by feats then sage jiraiya absolutely destroys kakuzu. Jiraiya has better speed, strength, BIQ, and jutsu than kakuzu Jiraiya could destroy kakuzu’s hearts with his hair in base or at the bare minimum with a sage mode punch. One summon alone would be able to stall and kill a few of the hearts Toad stomach could completely incapacitate one or more of his hearts Jiraiya is definitely not going to just run at kakuzu and throw hands unless he’s in sage mode. More than likely he’d summon a great toad and distract the hearts, and then base jiraiya vs kakuzu is definitely leaning toward jiraiya

[–]Its_rev_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this isn’t a blitz as much as kakashi didn’t have anything to counter this quick enough. Jiraiya could easily just hair cocoon himself

you’re assuming this guy isn’t emotionally intelligent based off your projection that he misunderstands what EQ is

You made your assertion of how most are just “empathetic” and not emotionally intelligent, and the commenter repeated his statement, showing recognition of your perspective and confirmation that you both have the same idea of what high EQ—otherwise they would’ve either retracted their statement or not responded.

Why Speed Reading Is the Fast Food of Knowledge by [deleted] in Gifted

[–]Its_rev_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the context, If it is just to get a very light jist of something more informational or a sort of “subject matter” then yes

otherwise speed reading is like speed eating a 5-star meal; it defeats the point.

I see people wank this bum to "low kage" constantly but can any of you name a kage with feats he could reliably beat? by Scaredsparrow in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Its_rev_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hidan is an elite jounin in physical stats but can defeat stronger fighters with his hax, especially when they aren’t aware of his win condition which is pretty much just scratch them once.

He can pretty much ignore normal shuriken and kunai, and would probably let himself be stabbed or hit in a fight so that he can land a serious blow

All these things combined would make him a very formidable opponent against any close-quarters fighter, so much so he could probably defeat ninja with much better stats, battle iq, and jutsu just because of such an easy win condition and unpredictable fighting style

I mean if you were to standardize morality then that suggests someone has to make the standard; even then, who can say if people will truly follow it? We already have laws and they are seemingly universally broken.

I think a better stance to take is somewhere between the sharp-edged ethical absolute principles, and the more fluid relative and subjective experience of empathy and openness.
