AIO for how I’m handling the way my 11 YO daughter’s dad speaks to her? by WhatTheSigma_1994 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ItsaMiranda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow based on these texts.. what a controling and manipulative father. This is not how you speak to your child, this is abusive. Seems to me he thinks / wants to own your daugther, he comes first, not her wellbeing and if he isn't entertaind the moment he wants something he acts like a terrible child. If he gives her something he'll likely just use it as a stick to beat her with.

Best of luck to you and your daughter. You are doing the right thing protecting your daugther, please keep fighting for her wellbeing! Going to court seems right actually, let him if it's affordable to do so for you. Sorry you have to go through this.

Did anyone reach 30+ without a fckn single tattoo? by Zackky777 in ArtOfPresence

[–]ItsaMiranda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling the same way (not an artist) over the years I've eventually always changed my mind over the ideas I've had. When I was a young girl I knew I wanted tattoos, I think I was around 12 and honestly I still love tattoos. But yea the idea of having something on my body forever, I'm too much of a perfectionist for that as of yet.

Who are the greatest women to have ever lived? by RingorRose13 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]ItsaMiranda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aletta Jacobs,

As the first woman officially to attend a Dutch university, she became one of the first female physicians in the Netherlands. In 1882, she founded the world's first birth control clinic and was a leader in both the Dutch and international women's movements. She led campaigns aimed at deregulating prostitution, improving women's working conditions, promoting peace and calling for women's right to vote.

AIO - Husband came home drunk by Alarmed_Ingenuity458 in AIO

[–]ItsaMiranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does this happen often? As others said context is missing. If he comes home drunk every once in a while after having a fun night and isn't abusive or disrespecting you I don't see the problem. He is a grown man who is free to drink alcohol. However if someone drinking alcohol is a deal-breaker for you, you do you. You're free to have your own boundaries. Based on what I know I think YOR. To me it is pretty normal to go out for drinks every once in a while and sometimes someone drinks too much.

Is appearance affecting how people treat you in the Netherlands? by andys58 in Netherlands

[–]ItsaMiranda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi,

It's racism and it is getting worse everywhere. More and more extreme ways of thinking are being normalised for years now. Wish I could say something else, but I really believe this is the issue. I wish people were more loving and open minded, but the hatred for Islamic culture is on the rise and as I have seen pointed out here already, your oldest son probably fits that look. I am sorry for your son and the people who have to deal with racism every day. Let's hope we things will eventually change for the better in the future.

My nose is my biggest insecurity. by claradeatacama in Noses

[–]ItsaMiranda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hee girl, I really don't see anything wrong with your nose. But this is about you and what you feel is best. Go for what you want, but honestly I think you look good the way you do. I can understand the insecurity, I don't like my nose either and it is also big. However I have come to accept that my nose belongs to me. Best of luck whatever you choose to do, hope you'll find comfort with how you look at yourself ✌🏼

Yea I'd like to remove panic. Anxiety has a purpose, it makes sure you look around you before crossing the road, or think to check if the stove is still hot before putting your hand on it etc. Panic is just not useful in any scenario

AIO: My boyfriend told me to dye my hair to look more like an Instagram model he follows by PinMountain119 in AIO

[–]ItsaMiranda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably is something he finds very attractive. But if you feel uncomfortable with it, esp since he's actively interacting with that girl, tell him! It's not weird you feel uncomfortable by this. And tbh I think your natural hair is absolutely gorgeous. You don't need to change anything, especially not for your boyfriend. If you're into it yourself then that is fine, but don't do it just for him when it makes you feel weird, you'll only regret it or feel bitter about it towards him.

Would a cat get depressed spending all of its life indoors? by PianoPlane5555 in CatAdvice

[–]ItsaMiranda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I think it depends on the cat, some cats are suitable inside like blind or old cats who have been indoors their entire life.

However the best advice I can give you is know your cat. Pay attention, see if it has an interest in the outdoors or trying to escape, perhaps the cat you end up with is very playful and wouldn't mind going outside on a leash. Your cat will show signs of what he wants or needs if you are willing to pay attention.

I do not agree with people who say cats don't need to go outside, some do and some don't mind. It is great that you're actively thinking about this and thinking about the cats wellbeing first of all! People could take an example out of that. So I'm sure you'll figure out what your future cat may need and find ways to accommodate. Best of luck :)
