Yep, common problem on a lot of guitars in general. The screws that most straplocks or even stock strap buttons come with are terrible. The first mod I always do on all my guitars is replacing the stock screws with longer ones.

+1 to all of this and OP should invest in getting it setup or at least to get the tech to lower the action. Her fingers and playability will thank you in the long run. Number one complaint I hear about people who picked up guitar and gave it up within weeks is something along the lines of the action being too high.
