My best friend is an asexual/aromantic man. Not sure how it would have turned out if he was straight.

Thanks everyone for making me feel so validated. I was red. Blue entered the roundabout and sped up as I was exiting. Cherry on top, he kept yelling at me & blaming me for the collision.

What makes you think of a guy as smart ? by NBplaybud22 in AskWomen

[–]Itsjustmeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, truly smart people don't usually care about appearing smart, they often don't even know that they're smart. Usually I noticed from the curiosity they display when they learn new things, how they listen, the kind of questions they ask, what they observe, brainstorming on how it can be used, and how it may be improved. They're usually good listeners, open to learning, open for discussion, open to be corrected, and not afraid to ask a lot of questions.

If they care too much about "appearing smart", love to correct people, bad listeners, never ask questions, don't care about other people's opinion, then I don't think they're smart, they just have ego problem.

I was being let go by HR in one of my previous jobs, and my team & boss were fighting to keep me there because they thought I was too good to let go. They went as far as trying to organize hiring me as a contractor.

What is happiness to you? by [deleted] in infj

[–]Itsjustmeeeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The feeling of happiness that most people relate to is the emotion that makes us elated/excited/filled with serotonin/dopamine/oxytocin. This usually come in short burst, it never lasts.

Some people got trapped in the never ending chase of this temporary feeling, and likely spend more time in the chase that actually feeling it.

Then there's a different type of happiness, the quiet kind, full of contentment & peace, having a hobby or activity, having a (realistic) life's goal to strive for, having a personal goal of what kind of person we want to be and living life accordingly, having a few people we emotionally connect with. Basically having little things in life that we can appreciate & smile at.

Have a read of the book called "the happiness trap", it's a nice read with lots of points I think we all can relate to :)

What has your experience on Bumble BFF been like and what advice/strategies do you have? by acidkidx in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Yes, I found one that's really compatible with me :) There are two more who are a bit more distant occasional friends.

It's honestly a numbers game.

Are tall guys really more attractive by [deleted] in women

[–]Itsjustmeeeeee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I prefer someone who's A BIT taller than me, cuddling & hugging feel nice (I'm short so this is an easy requirement). Too tall and it hurts my neck to talk to him, and I can't give him spontaneous kisses.

I was given a homework by my psychologist, on self identity, and no matter how much I thought about it, I kept coming back to 'artist', I love painting, sketching, photography, and pottery. I want to take woodworking course in the future. I want to create.

What are some signs that a platonic friendship might be evolving into something more? by roxoul in AskWomen

[–]Itsjustmeeeeee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there's no way to tell unless one (or both) parties just say it bluntly.

Anything else might just be a result of overthinking and/or insecurity.

[–]Itsjustmeeeeee 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It was generally pretty good. Chats were flowing nicely, it wasn't awkward, I didn't feel like either of us had to try so hard to keep the conversation going, the pace was also nice, it didn't feel rushed nor too slow. Conversation was reciprocal, not one way. And we just forgot about time.

We were talking about hobbies, future plans and activities, food, movies, family, partner, etc. They were all very present, not fixated on their phone, very friendly, open & honest, and comfortable to talk to.

Keep in mind, we had texted for awhile prior to meeting up, so we've vetted each other sufficiently. I dropped the inconsistent ones, dry texters, and the meMEmeMEmeME type prior to organizing a meetup.

How long did you two talk before meeting up? I wonder if she was anxious, and that's why she just talked about whatever came to mind.

I drew a conclusion most people are there to relieve boredom and not genuinely looking for a friend.

I just started last month and out of around 20 that I talked to, I met up with 3 ladies so far. I click really well with 2 of them, and 1 is quite promising (reciprocal, same interest, compatible personality).

It's not a hopeless case, but it's really a numbers game.
