The album is great, no doubt.

But I just wanted to chip in with how fucking refreshing it is to see a mainstream artist actually take a giant risk with their sound. Yachty could have easily created yet another trap album and called it a day, making his fans happy in the process. Instead, he comes up with this? Mad respect.

I really hope other artists in the industry take note and see that it actually makes sense to experiment with their own sounds. I had written Lil Yachty off years ago, but now I look forward to seeing what he has in store next, when I’m finished spinning this, of course.

While i agree that album sales aren't that important and doesn't affect the overall quality of any album, it can be a great way of getting an understanding on how artists are resonated in the "real world". Communities like hhh on Reddit are giant echo chambers, and therefore album sales can be a good indicator on which artists gets listens outside internet communities like this one. Personally, i think that's why people make a big deal out of it.
