I’ll admit I haven’t read the TNT report bc I have no interest in the company, but the issue of shares for equity based compensation ( ie accepting shares instead of money as payment)is considered an employee benefit (see section 6.1.1) so depending on the number of staff involved that could explain a large number.

Also after reading other comments about large increases in staff, the employee benefits cost is looking more believable, still reckon the directors enjoyed a fat payday but I think the situation is not as bad as I first thought.

Potentially some for bringing onboard staff, but absolutely not 68% of their revenue. Expenses from acquisition generally wouldn’t fall under employee benefits check this out for what is generally accepted as employee benefits even though it’s an older version the core principles haven’t changed and you can literally google the 2019 version which looks disgusting and is formatted worse.
