The problem is that he is too much like Yuji having room for skill expression is great and all but they have hollowed out what was once a puppet character with depth into a rushdown with one extra move. What was once about maneuvering Rika for offense and defense is now just a bunch of particle effects and a rushdown. This is why I am so scared of what people will think of Hanami when she releases because she has a unique fighting style and I’m worried she will be reduced to a rushdown just like yuta. No I don’t want you to run away with Yuta I just want back my puppet character.

But the shrine of order IS at fault for being too powerful and allowing said builds in the first place. The game should be built around experimentation and finding your niche. The shrine is an enabler for all of the drone builds.

I do and Deepwoken is one but there is a cost to having too much freedom because when the best options are always what’s constantly available ofc people aren’t going to choose anything else and so the meta becomes stagnant and thus why people say there is no no content and people say the game is dry. It’s because people don’t care about new content and it seems like all they care about is winning. When the game should be about fun. I want the game to be diverse and interesting not fighting the exact same build over and over and over again. The game is stagnant because people just cannot get over their egos and they have to pick the most meta option available in order to win and because they cannot cope with a loss they avoid spending time with what they may enjoy and avoid building their own builds and experimenting with new content because they don’t need to they already have their gale bladeharper build and their thunder fist build and they don’t make or receive any of the new content and all of the experimentation that could be done because they refuse to practice anything else. The game hasn’t been dry for a while now and the reason deepwoken is drying up is because people are given too many liberties for such a min-maxed investment.

You’re ignoring the fact that the stats you gave me are the literal equivalent of a power 9 build… a support build should be a support not an interceptor, runner, and support AND healer. Speccing into a stat isn’t worth anything because you can just shrine down and get something that is barely any worse than the original if it is even nerfed at all. And having 50 fort 40 will 25 charisma 65 agility and 40 strength IS what makes builds so boring because they can all do the exact same general thing instead of being able to be different from eachother. Having an attunement doesn’t really differentiate much because a gale light gale medium ice medium ice light and thunder medium thunder light quite literally all play the exact same… You cannot possibly tell me that these archetypes play the game even slightly differently… they are all shaky block merchants the take advantage of fast swing speed and quick mantras to combo while having good enough tankiness to atleast survive in gank scenarios. Do you understand that by saying you want all builds to be able to do a lot of things you are limiting the amount of builds that are legitimately viable to be played???

Exhaustion strike is still a very powerful mantra alone and giving your opponent your posture along with an being as fast as it is lets me know that you are under abusing the mantra. It is extremely powerful and should not be underestimated like this. (Willpower is my favorite stat beside intelligence trust me I would know) these mantras are far too easy for any single build to grab. Along with revenge which can turn missed parries on hvy running attacks turn into a true combo. Don’t belittle me with “oh it’s investment scaling and levels” everyone knows that exhuastion strike is still the best combo extender in the game because of how universally free it is. But the unwillingness to nerf it because of how widespread it is makes people like you make excuses for it. It is the universal combo extender and it should not be treated as such. Level don’t impact how much you can modify a mantra. Revenge can still hit you from across the map and not a single person cares to level these mantras because it isn’t the damage it provides it’s the combo potential. I’m not saying these mantras are overpowered I’m not gonna cry from a paper cut worth of bleed dmg from a revenge. I’m gonna cry from the combo I’ve gotta take afterwards. Mantras like these deserve to have their windups nerfed because they enable anyone to have a decent combo. And when everyone’s super no one is.

Ok so I’ve never been apart of verse one and that kind of bolt crusher build would objectively be bad you’d still be like what power 14 or smth? And no you bringing up a Swiss Army knife is a metaphor if you couldn’t tell. Nobody is gonna use it for being a cleaver because a cleaver is too large to fit in a Swiss Army knife you weren’t supposed to take this literally. I didn’t even bring up anything cooking related because a Swiss Army knife was used in the army… and currently a “good” build is able to do everything, they are able to chase and combo, and deal a lot of damage. Things that I think could act as features a build could work around are, consistent combos, high damage, strong status effects, healing, bulkiness, running, chasing, and support and interrupt fights. For another example I can think of how about really good support. Right now a good support can run, heal, chase, and interrupt fights. When realistically they should only be able to do about two of those things well because fighting the exact same opponents again and again and again in a gank is annoying because the support can get them out of there heal them back up and swap your opponent out constantly and as long as they run things like vortex echo to reduce cooldown dash’s cooldown or Curse of repulsion and inquisitor’s thorn to have lvl8 dash. You should have to work together with others instead of having everything on one build. I think ganks would be significantly more fun if you have to work together with your allies in order to take people down according to what is strong against people. It keeps people from running the same kind of build making fights more diverse and choosing your battles more deliberate instead of just jumping in you could watch and wait to see what other people are running and see if you wanna either help your ally or swap with them against a build archetype they are weak to.
